David's Amusement Ride Extravaganza

Octopus

Originating in the 1950’s, the Octopus has become a staple fairground attraction. The Eyerly Aircraft Company (Portland, USA) is believed to have been one of the first manufacturers of this timeless design.

The ride consists of a set of undulating arms which bear cars on the end. As the arms raise and lower from the eccentric hub, the cars are exposed to varying clockwise and counterclockwise spins, resulting in an enjoyable intermediate thrill ride.
