Zipper

The Zipper first made its wicked presence in Kansas in 1968 invented by Joseph Brown of Chance Mfg USA. Since this time more than 200 rides have been built – distributed all over the world, making it one of the most mass-produced modern-day rides of all time.

This ride is the standard measuring stick to which all other “scary” rides are measured – if your body can handle two and a half minutes on the Zipper you can handle any other ride on a carnival midway (with possible exception of its cousin – Turbo). The ride is lean, mean – and very rarely clean: the firmly padded, inner-carriage cushioning has its fair share of wipe-downs.

The Zipper is a great ride to watch – 19 tonnes of modestly decorated, well-welded steel. Minimal attempt has been made to modernise the ride over its 37 years of operation – the basic structural blue-prints remain the same. The Zipper isn’t out to impress its audience with any warm and fuzzy themes – just untamed, mechanical chaos in its purest form.

Zipper’s 12 passenger cages are all about practicality. Just large enough to encase two human bodies side by side – not for the weak-hearted or claustrophobic! No body-hugging safety restraints either, just a lap bar attached to the door, and some rungs to tightly hold on to (if you don’t your head will collide with the grab-bars in front of you!)

Each cage rotates freely on an off-centre axis, while the cages (connected to a cable) move around the main boom at 4 rpm. Furthermore, the whole boom rotates on its own axis at 7 rpm. This creates a completely chaotic ride pattern – flipping riders with maximum white-knuckle force. Definitely not something to take your grandma on!

The Zipper is a ride which is either loved and appreciated in all its mechanical glory – or despised as an evil machine of terror. You decide.

No carnival is complete without a Zipper – no ride even slightly resembles it; it’s truly unique and will always hold a space in any carnival of the future. While it’s not fun for the whole family, it never fails to hold appeal to a strong minority of adrenaline-junkie regular riders.

In 1968, Joey Madriaga was fortunate to work on the 2nd Zipper ever made by Chance, belonging to West Coast Shows and offers this fascinating insight:

* 3 Zipper’s were already ordered by West Coast Shows, while the first one was 60 days from being completed
* The ride sold for a price of $32,000 in 1968. Nowadays, a new Zipper will set you back around USD$1 million.
* The original speed on the first Zipper’s boom was 11rpm. (FAST) and the cable speed 7 rpm. These speeds are just under TWICE as fast as it operates now. At this speed, the operator could make the cars spin constantly – up to 8 times between the edges of the boom.
* With operating speeds nearly double today’s, owners were paying ever-increasing insurance premiums with common cases of whiplash, back-aches and heart attack. Subsequently, Harold Chance had the speeds revised to today’s slower RPM.

  2. best ride i have ever rode. it’s not a fair without a zipper there. i love that feeling you get when you go around the top and you flip over. you feel like you are floating. thanks and keep on zipping.

  3. I love this ride and have been on it about five times. I am 12 and think it is a wonderful thing to go on if you like spontaneous bursts of adrenalin. I will probably never go on it again because the last time i went on it I was on for a total of 4 minutes and hit my head several times. The locks were also rusted and you should never trust to be safe when you get on the Zipper. Changes to make the ride more safe need to be updated. Many deaths have occurred while on this ride and manufactures need to take precaution of this and fix things to make sure that it will never happen again.

  4. This ride is absolutely amazing. I have been riding it for probably the last 9 years. It definitely beats anything at Great America.
I want one in my backyard. =)

  5. For those interested in how fast the original zippers used to run, this is just about the closest you’ll ever get to seeing what the original speed was. It’s a custom built model in Australia.

  6. In the ’70’s, this ride was amazing. I loved it- my favorite ride of all time!

Zipper’s today are still fun rides- but even the best ones pale in comparison!

  7. A fair near me is bringing in a Zipper this year and I can’t wait to ride! It’s been way too long since I’ve subjected myself to its wonderful vertical assault lol. “Untamed, mechanical chaos in its purest form” is just the perfect way to describe Zipper.

By the way, it’s nice to see your site back in full force!

  8. Hi David, I just got your email today -it is so great that your site is back and “in motion” once again! Since I’m naturally a crazy person, my first click was The Zipper! Despite all the modern technology -and the super hi-tech thrill rides that exist today, The Zipper is still the king of all scary rides! -I’m enjoying checking out your new and improved site!

  18. I’ve riding the Zipper for many years and it is still an awesome ride. I rode it for a little over one hour non-stop a few years ago and am looking to attempt to take a two hour plus ride non-stop. I’d like to break this record and go for two and possibly three hours riding this non-stop. If someone is out there and can accommodate me on this crazy thing on the Zipper my e-mail is bdbell1940@yahoo.com and I live in Florida.

  25. I rode the zipper for the first time a week ago at the St Mike’s fair here in Levittown, PA, and this had the longest line! The operator sent me and my friend (she’s the one that got me to go on it, I got dizzy just watching it) spinning about 15 times in a row. We both got out and collapsed! Gotta love Reithoffer Shows!

    Ian Anderson - July 9th, 2009 at 3:05 pm

  26. This is hands down the best amusement ride ever created. The first time i ever went on this ride i was with my 250 pound older brother and his friend also just as big. i was maybe 12 years old and 70 pounds and my older brother was screaming constantly for the whole ride. i will never forget his shrieking (i’m laughing as i’m writing this) i had tears streaming down my face i was laughing at him sooo hard. he had such a genuine look of fear in his face. his big pal was quiet as a church-mouse but his eyes were wide as could be, he was overwhelmed with fear. the sound i remember still sticks in my head. a warble of music passing by on each rotation mixed with my laughing so loud at my brother and my brother himself shrieking at the top of his lungs and every so often when he could get out a phrase the only words i could make out were “I’m gonna die on a fly-by-night ride, a fly by night ride” the whole scene was a awesome memory i will never forget and to this day i will ride a zipper every time i see one.

  29. I’ll tell you something better. I’m ready to attempt a four hour non-stop ride on the Zipper but at the same time while riding it, break the record of 167 non-stop flips in a row and go for over 200 non-stop and doing it on one that is fast as the ones in Australia. That’s the way to break a record or two. Anybody dare me? E-mail me at bdbell1940@yahoo.com

  30. Im soooo happy im acually going to ride this and im going to beat the record and try to go for 6 hours ya i said it 6 hours, its going to be my first tim riding it and i need some tips so comment and i’ll always be on this site to see what you wrote Tyty

    Tyty - July 16th, 2009 at 12:03 pm

  31. Tyty, when you ride the Zipper as many times as I have, then you can try for six hours. One thing, you have to ride it alot in order to get used to it. I’ll tell you, after you go for six hours, Ill go for seven. Do you believe Tyty Dave? It is still a great ride.

  38. I LOVE the Zipper. It is the best!!!! I’m going on it tomorrow. The first time is really scary though, because it seems when your cage is at the right angle you feel like your going to hit the ground. But the article didn’t mention the 4 people who died, and 2 that got injured. Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zipper_(ride) to read about it!

  39. THE BEST RIDE EVER! i’ve been riding the zipper for about 8 years… I can’t wait to go to the zipper tomorrow! ^.^ I live in hermiston, and the county fair comes to our city every year… and the carnival always comes with it!!

  40. I have not rode this but i would probably get sick :(

    Unknown - August 14th, 2009 at 2:00 pm

  41. Still the best ride. I still want to attempt to ride it three to four hours on one where the operator can flip the cages from the control panel. That would be one super ride.

Super Ride. Hope I can attempt a three to four hour non-stop ride on one of the Zippers where the operator can flip the cages from the control panel. That’s where you can get many fast flips and they can do it an unlimited amount of times. You do not know where you are, but I am used to it. Anybody want to take me up on the three to four ride. My e-mail is bdbdll1940@yahoo.com.

  52. This one appears every year at an annual 4-day carnival in the park just accross the street. I’ve only ridden it several times for a few years of when it has been around, but it’s badassedness never fails. I’m not too happy about the single riders rule though since I can’t just go by myself and ride when I want to.

On one occassion, I had quite a dinner before riding the Zipper, then after riding, I proceeded to a collection of various spinning rides. After riding 6 or so other rides, I went on the Zipper again. I almost barfed after I got off, which was the sickest I’ve ever got from amusement rides. Never going to eat that much again before riding.

I’ve also seen the ride ops flip one of the cars continuously one time. Never got to ride those though.

    Sam - September 27th, 2009 at 6:54 am

  53. Hey! I can’t remember when the last time we had The Zipper here at my hometown. We have a fair called Deep South Fair. We had different shows coming to our fair since the late 90’s. Kissel Rides and Shows in 1996-2002 and now Modern Midways 2003-present. None of these shows have The Zipper. So I just stop going to the our fair. Even time when they come to town they say they have “new rides” but it not true. When I was a kid they use to have the Giant Wheel, Ring of Fire, Gravitron, Scrambler, The Zipper, Paratrooper, The Wipeout and Kamikaze. They had a couple more rides but those rides. Maybe in the future they’ll bring back the Zipper to our fair hopefully.

    Prince06 - September 30th, 2009 at 3:00 am

  54. This ride is the bomb! I used to be able do hundreds of flips even while the operator was loading the ride. That was back when they allowed single riders. The ride operator said he had never seen anyone do that before. Wow, those were the days!!

    Mike - October 1st, 2009 at 7:01 am

  55. BEST RIDE EVER! i wish i was a little kid again so i can ride this thing all day like i used to. went on one recently after not being on one for a while and it was exactly how i remembered. pure euphoria!

    tim - October 5th, 2009 at 7:44 am

  56. Chance rides really ruined the enjoyment of riding the Zipper, when they placed this rediculous single rider restriction. You can put a dummy or inflateable in the cage in order to fill the space of the second rider. What is happening is if you attend a fair where they have a Zipper ride by yourself or the person you are with doesn’t want to ride, you are penalized as you would not be permitted to ride. The people at Chance Rides do not think of that. If you are paired with someone, you run the risk of riding with someone under the influence of the funny stuff. I know. I had that happen and couldn’t wait to get away from these individuals. As far as I’m concerned, Chance Rides is not a customer friendly company.

    Bruce - October 6th, 2009 at 1:29 pm

  57. I just went on this ride with my friend, we screamed our guts out. Best. Ride. Ever. Although we started screaming before the ride even started, and when the operator opened the door. We stumbled out hugging each other. BUT, I repeat, BEST RIDE EVER. Wheew. I think I’m still hyped out over it.

Ahem. I’m curious, though, does anyone know how many G’s it gets up to on the Zipper?

  66. My best friend and I got introduced to the Zipper at age 18 in Ocean city MD. We tried to spin the car as many times as possible each summer when we went to OC. Our best was 103 times in a ride. The best was when they were loading people, they stopped us at the bottom and asked if we could stop until the ride started going fully loaded….we were shaking the whole thing as they tried to load people on.

  71. I just came back from a fair that had the Zipper. Man..I remember riding this when I was little and hitting my head a bunch of times and hating the ride/thinking I was going to fall out. But after riding it again for the first time in 10 years tonight…I can’t believe how thrilling and amazing this thing is. I mean the way it flips you in every way, and the speeds at which it does so…it’s superior to any roller coaster I’ve been on, and I have ridden tons of them. I went on a bunch of rides at this fair and after getting off a few of them I was thinking to myself “that was good/alright.” But when I got off the Zipper I must have had an adrenaline rush or something because that ride made my entire night.

Once me and my friends at a lot of food at the carnival and then we went on abunch of rides and lastly the zipper and i puked the whole time we rolled in it and everything. I was sick for hours and since it was a sleepover my friends held my hair the whole night and we just sat in the bathroom.

    Well... - April 27th, 2010 at 2:25 pm

  75. Just lock me in the Zipper cage and start the ride at its fastest speed and keep the ride going for at least four hours or more. Anybody who wants to take me up on this my e-mail is bdbell1940@yahoo.com. I would like to attempt this possible record setting ride.

  79. Have never went on it, but it look like a ride created in hell, look kinda rusty too, but fun :D probably on my top ten over scariest rides together with such as The Eclipse and Booster(thou i haven´t tried them either)but both like te zipper contains hella fast neckbreaking upside down movements and you are guarenteed throwing up if you have just eaten a softice lol! There´s allso a double Pheriswheel very similar to The Zipper!

  82. Still would like to have somebody contact me in my quest to break my own record of one hour plus in riding the Zipper. I would like to go for three to four hours on this ride. My e-mail is bdbell1940@yahoo.com. I really want to establish a record of at least four hours riding the Zipper. I would like to do this on one of the Australian Zippers as they are faster than the ones in the US,but I do not think this is possible. Just set the US Zippers at a faster speed.

  83. i would like to see newwer safer modles and like how many people died 4-7.if it was newwer and safer it would be alot better but other wise it kicks ass

    kyle beerstra - June 22nd, 2010 at 2:48 pm

  84. i noticed everyone saying “great ride!” “so fun!” well, my experience wasn’t so fun . I went on it last year, when i was about 4″11 , & weighed 80 pounds. I sat in that cart, the bar across my legs, and held onto the top for dear life. All I can say, is my ride was an awful experience, with whiplash, irriation from the bar, a head almost hitting the cage, legs coming out from unter the bar and tears. I suggest that if you are too small , or undeweight NOT to step foot on the Zipper carnival ride.

    Meghan - June 26th, 2010 at 10:49 am

  85. Does anyone know about a similar ride? It is a small ferris wheel-type design with just 6 cars. The cars are 2-person, pivot like those on the Zipper, and are egg-shaped. The cars are much easier to spin from a stationary position and the pivot brake is accessible from within the car. This allows much more control over the spinning of the car and it is very easy to keep the car upside down during multiple revolutions of the ride.

It has been close to 10 years since I last saw one in southern California. It was painted white with red triangles or something on the outer panels of the cars.

  90. KC I’m ready to beat you in going for four hours riding the Zipper. I’m looking for some connection that will accommodate me to do this. My e-mail is bdbell1940@yahoo.com and I live in Florida. Again’ I’m ready to beat your three hours.

  93. I would like to go for a world’s record for the longest non-stop ride riding the Zipper. I saw three hours on one of your earlier comments but I’m ready to break that and go for four hours and possibly beyond that length of time. It would be great if I rode one that is set as fast as the Australian Zippers. Spread the word that I want to attempt this and hopefully somebody that will be able to accommodate to do this will contact me at bdbell1940@yahoo.com

    Bruce Bell - July 26th, 2010 at 10:29 am

  94. Comment #86. Hey KC, put your money where your mouth is. I’m determined to go for a world’s record for the longest non-stop ride, riding the Zipper and that would better your three hours if the proper connections that can accommodate me would contact me. I can be reached at bdbell1940@yahoo.com. Hey Joe, that ride you’re referring to is the Rock-O-Plane and I would also go for a real long record setting length of time riding that.

    Bruce Bell - July 26th, 2010 at 12:21 pm

  95. Has anyone ever seen one of these in person?

    http://web.archive.org/web/20010714010748/rides.com/zipper_custom1.html

I have never seen a themed Zipper but apparantly chance offered it.

Great page, keep it up! I’m a collector of amusement memorabilia and the Zipper is one of my favorites. If anyone has an extra Zipper operator’s manual or photos I would be happy to purchase!

    James - August 4th, 2010 at 10:05 am

  96. One of the best carnival rides out there. Any carnival or park I go to, there is always a 20-60 minute wait for this one. However, the last time I went on it, the ride was incredibly squeaky, rusty, and looked as if it needed new tires, track, metal, paint, and locks. Why did Chance discontinue the manufacturing of this ride. Since it is one of the greatest in amusement history, you think they would at least update the ones already out there, right?

    Daniel - August 12th, 2010 at 2:45 am

  97. I loved this ride! I went on it for the first time 2 nights ago when I hung out with my friends. I love the thrill I get. It’s my favorite ride in the fair! (:

    Lauren - August 13th, 2010 at 4:12 am

  98. Omg I went on the Zipper for the first and probably the only time on Saturday lol, it was fun but scary plus the persons money from infront of my friend and i kept falling on my face :(

    Kris - August 17th, 2010 at 7:31 am

  99. okay, so i wanna go on this ride high (on pot) but someone told me they tell u not to go on it while under the influence of drugs. why? what will happen if i do?

    Jenny - August 20th, 2010 at 12:28 pm

  100. Finally went on this today. It was just as amazing as I expected, but it wasn’t the most enjoyable ride. I loved it, but I feel like it isn’t safe, even at the normal speed. That doesn’t mean I won’t do it again, but it wasn’t fun getting stuck upside-down, because my head would be pushed against the (thankfully padded) ceiling, and the bar hurt my legs after a while. It was still amazing, though!

    Christian - August 21st, 2010 at 8:00 am

  101. In my opinion, this is the best carnival ride of all time. I never rode the Turbo though.

    Justin Huber - August 23rd, 2010 at 12:32 pm

  102. This ride is awesome. Long live the Zipper. Zippity do dah, Zippity yay.

    Mb - August 29th, 2010 at 8:12 am

  103. Hey MB I agree with you that this ride is awesome. That’s why I rode it for one hour plus non-stop a few years ago and I continue to ride it and want to break my own record in attempting to ride it for a few hours. This ride will be around for a real long time. I still see long lines at the fairs as this ride is still very popular.

    Bruce Bell - August 31st, 2010 at 11:14 am

  104. from a purely technical standpoint, I’d agree that the Zipper is the best carnival ride ever (in the mechanical, propelled revolution catagory). There are other, equally thrilling rides involving bungees, free-falls, etc…, but the Zipper gets the nod as best mechanical. I last rode it in the late 70’s, so too bad for all the new afficionados that the RPM’s have been slowed a bit. Still, nothing new matches its deviancy. Some “liner notes” if your are of weak stomach, make sure you consume plenty of beverages, of whatever potency, before riding. You do not want the dry heaves and you certainly don’t want huge chunks bouncing around your cage for the 2.5 minutes (which does seem like 10 after you’ve puked). Better yet, consume copious amounts of fluid and see if you can time your emission at the apex, which will rain down joy upon your fellow riders. Good times.

  105. omg i love dat ride

    russell crist - September 1st, 2010 at 8:53 am

  106. I first rode the zipper on my 11th birthday.
Every year at my local county fair there are unlimited ride wristband days. I go on those days to ride the zipper all day long.

    It’s tradition.
    Orgasmic.

    Patrick - September 3rd, 2010 at 4:03 pm

  107. Josh, I may be in several places on the net as it’s about enjoying these rides including the Zipper. Nothing wrong with that. In the state where I live all the theme parks are open all year round and the fairs will be starting up for the fall and winter in a few weeks. Yes, I’m always looking to take marathon rides on these thrill machines and I feel the best way of expressing this is by putting it on the net.

    Bruce Bell - September 13th, 2010 at 11:38 am

  108. I am a 62yr old guy ,and the Zipper never ceases to thrill me.One of the best carnival rides ever invented. If I had one complaint it is that they do not allow single riders,(even when not full)and most of my friend’s young and older are afraid to ride.I can see young kids not going alone, but for an adult it should be no problem!

    Bill Jeffrey - September 23rd, 2010 at 8:48 am

  109. Kt, This column is devoted to the positives and negatives concerning the Zipper ride. Your comment is totally meaningless, as it has nothing to do with this great ride. The Zipper will always appear at the fairs in the future, even with these new high tech rides that are being offered by the Amusement Industry, that the carnival organizations are adding.

    Bruce Bell - September 26th, 2010 at 2:30 pm

  110. Great ‘site! I’ve rode these for 35 years & still think the Zipper is the greatest carny ride. It does suck about the no “single” riders policy; Chance is just covering their butt though. Most carnys will let an adult ride alone (I’m 45) with maybe a stern warning. The best rides are the older ones; easy to spot, as they do not have a large chain/sprocket driving the boom; instead, they have a huge metal wheel, & it’s driven by 2 tires on the mast…And, the cable wheels are driven by what looks like 2 truck differentials (axles), 1 at each end of the boom, the “wagon wheels” being mounted to them like a truck tire. Exactly opposite of the later Zippers. (The boom is tire driven & the cable mechanically on these old versions.) & it will not give off that “air-raid siren” hydraulic sound the newer ones make. It’ll just be squeaky & grindy, like a worn-out Scrambler sounds!A lot of them have been re-painted & modern signage & lights installed; but look at the drive system; it’l be a dead giveaway. These older versions are getting harder to find, enjoy them while you can. As for a posting about a “Ferris wheel” type ride W/ egg shaped cars & a clutch bar; Look up Eylery (Spelling?)aircrafts “Rock O Plane”; there are a few websites that have pics & info on this & a lot of now defunct rides. Ryan - September 27th, 2010 at 11:41 pm

  113. If you’re familiar with Coney Island, they modernized it and put in all Zamperla rides. I saw videos of what they did on You Tube. It’s not the same. I like the old Coney Island with the Zipper on 12th Street. Rode it many times and they let you ride it solo. I miss that. Also they had a ride called the Hammer, an Eyerly Loop -O-Plane. I rode it and they had it going really fast. Both of these rides today still belong in Coney Island, but with today’s high tech rides being added, including a Funtime Slingshot, these great rides are gone, but not forgotten.

  118. Zipper is still one of the best rides, even with new high tech rides that are coming out. Still one of my favorite rides, but Chance Rides, who makes the Zipper should get rid of this rediculous single rider restriction and let everyone enjoy this ride.

    Angel - December 21st, 2010 at 6:19 am

  123. Angel, Even with more high tech rides out there, the Zipper will still be around. I’ll bet that in a few years you’ll be riding it. I rode this for over an hour non-stop and I would like to ride this for four hours and at the same time do 500 non-stop flips. I doubt that this will ever happen, but if the opportunity ever came up, I would definitely attempt to go for it. bdbell1940@yahoo.com

  124. I went to a carnival last night, and went on the zipper. It was one of the most fun rides you could ever have gone on because it’s thrilling and exciting. I love that part when you get to the top and flip backwards in a series of twirls. This is the best amusement park ride ever!

  128. My first ride on the Zipper was at a fair. I had seen it years before but parents thought I was too small to ride it – it mesmerized me. The next year once I had them watch me ride the Loop-o-Plane without incident, they ok’d THE ZIPPER. I was 13….Now Im 53 and STILL RIDE IT. I will actually strike up conversation with carney running it to be able to get several rides without getting off. I wish there were a model of it so I could build, motorize and pretend. LOL. Anyone ever hear of any ZIPPER accidents? great site! boryzark

    Ronald McDonald - May 1st, 2011 at 6:20 pm

  133. does anyone know why the zipper is called the zipper?

    Cori - May 13th, 2011 at 10:57 am

  134. Cori,
It supposedly looks like a zipper. I fail to see the resemblance as well. It looks more like a chainsaw to me. However, if view from the back while the boom is in the loading position, the main support tower looks like the zipper pull thing, and I guess the cars can pass for the teeth.

I love everything about this ride. The design and the lights and the whirring haunted sound the cable makes on the rim drive models all make this ride. Does anyone know what causes the cable to make that sound?

My first Zipper was reithoffer shows. I really like the older ones with the cars that are complete cages with numbers on them instead of the chance redesign.

  135. Absoulutly Fantastic Amusement/Fair Ride! Love the Sensation you get when you go over the Top or edge of the Ride when your on it! Don’t Go on this Ride if your Hung-Over! You’ll puke!

    Billy Hackett - May 28th, 2011 at 9:50 am

  136. The Zipper is a timeless classic; especially with the variations in lettering and lighting design. A well lit Zipper is always fun to watch! Last year I saw a Zipper that should have been put to rest in a ride graveyard; it was an older model with the block style lettering and the diamond shaped tube lighting. Moreover, a good portion of those lights were burnt out. Pretty sad.

    Butch - October 10th, 2011 at 3:44 am

  154. I work for a carnival and live under the principal that if you want to operate a ride you need to ride it, at least once. So I rode the Zipper once, in one direction only, even though it is very rare for a girl to operate a major ride on the show I was working for. And I rode it with one friend on either side of me (3 adult, with no freak accidents) and before the ride started one of my supervisors popped up out of no where saying “hello ladies” and started flipping the tub upside down before the ride could begin. It was insane. I love the mechanical aspects of the zipper, and I would really like to learn to set it up and tear it down completely, especially since it is my boyfriends favorite carnival ride and he wants to teach it to me as well, but I have no shame in saying that I hated every minute of riding the zipper and I had them stop the ride half way through and let me off. I was scared going on to it, so at least I got that far.
It’s strange calling it the zipper for me, because the first show I worked for called it the Chainsaw and I had never seen the ride before that.

    Marie - October 12th, 2011 at 12:49 pm

  155. The best of the best. Our company runs two full time with a third in reserve. The third model was built in 1974 and was fully restored last winter. The other two are going in the winter for new lighting. Swapping out the Turbolites for LED’s.

  158. i’ve got to be honest with you i travelled a zipper for 2 yrs and it was a nightmare worst ride i have ever operated alays breaking down and a complete arse to pull down and build i was so glad when it left on a boat for holland, if it hadnt of left when it did i would have had to burn the piece of s##t down!

    mikey - January 9th, 2012 at 7:11 am

  160. I love the zipper, just went to a Carnival in Round Rock TX!! It was the best ride there, and I laughed the whole time while on it

    Ashley - March 16th, 2012 at 7:26 am

  161. Some Chance Zipper ride models still have fluorescent lighting and I am curious to know if those traveling carnival companies any where in the world plan to keep the same lighting , or someday can be replaced with the newer lighting which are bulbs formed like an arrow and have more than one color. I have asked some of the carnival companies by phone who own the Zipper here in the United States and some don,t seem to be interested. I was 15 years old when I rode a Zipper for the first time and I screamed every time the seat cart flipped over but was still a fun ride, I might always ride the Chance Zipper for as long as I enjoy carnivals.

    Carlos Saltz - March 26th, 2012 at 8:47 am

  162. At this one fair, I had a wristband so I could go on any ride unlimited times. When I went on the zipper, the idiot who was operating it put me in with only 1 other rider. She was skinny, so we were all over the place in the cage. At one point I slipped out of the seat. It was traumatizing.

Looking forward to speaking with you soon,

  165. I heard that they discontinued the Zipper due to too many deaths or injuries. Is this true?? I am 29 and STILL love this ride! I look for it at every carnival near my home in Michigan EVERY year! I have not seen one in a few years though. Please tell me it’s not so?

    MandyMarv - May 31st, 2012 at 7:25 am

  166. I remember going on it as a little girl and ever since have been attracted to it. Went on it again for this first time in ages, yesterday with my nine year old son (my 7 yr old daughter would of gone too but was too short)….as soon as it begun I apologized to him for bringing him on….I was too busy keeping him calm to feel too much fear myself…he made it through it and don’t think he was scarred…..It was SO SCARY BUT AMAZING….can’t wait to again…..and take mydaughter lol….she wantsto ride it.

  171. Okay all you Zipper lovers.
    I have a challenge.

Does anyone have any pictures of the 16 car zipper????
It says on Wikipedia that there were something like 14 made by Chance with 16 cars. I have looked on the web and can’t find any with 16 cars!!!!

Stefan from NY - June 26th, 2012 at 4:19 pm

  172. By far the best amusement ride i have ever been on. I live in Australia, so i think I experience the faster version – definitely a plus! I first rode the Zipper last year, with a crush of mine. While we were sitting up the top in our cage, waiting for those below us to be let out, he attempted to kiss me – definitely not a good idea, considering i had a bad case of dry mouth from screaming so hard! This year at our Royal Townsville Show in Australia, I rode the Zipper around about 15-20 times, after purchasing a $20 unlimited ride pass. However I was a bit alarmed to see that the maximum weight capacity of the cages is 153kg… I rode with two large friends plus myself, the weight would have atleast been 200kg combined. Disappointed that the ride operators didn’t advise us of the weight restrictions because I would have hated the thought of an accident! But definitely the best ride I have experienced, the feeling of sailing over the top curve and spinning head first facing the ground, and lifting off your seat, is one of the most thrilling things ever.

  173. I never been on the zipper i weight 250 or so and i am5’5 i just dont think a hinge locked door with a lap bar will or will ever be safe the latch could come undone it is unsafe and our fair they dont care they will put two fatties in the same seat ounce i got on and they had this 255 pound woman sit in by me i told the guy i wanted off that it was too unsafe with her sitting by me too much weoght plz make updates to this ride please n make it manditory that all old zippers be returned

  180. Just get in line…

    Rodent - December 27th, 2012 at 2:33 am

  181. The Zipper is a very intense ride. Every time I ride it my inner wuss is hollering: “Make it stop! Make it stop!” While my crazy side is simultaneously yelling: “Yeah! Faster! Faster! More! More!” I see the maximum ride duration is listed as 2.5 min, yet I have had some rides on it that have lasted up to ten minutes. You also might mention this is a ride where single riders are not treated fairly. The policy for this ride is usually no single riders allowed. If you try to get on single, instead of trying to pair you up, the carnies will usually rudely turn you away. That being said it is usually a good idea to find a riding partner before joining the line.

  182. There’s a fair with a zipper coming in August. I might ride the zipper. But I’m scared.

  186. Today i was in line for the new name for the zipper the chainsaw and while i was in line one of the wheels fell of the ride???? while people were in the carts they were on the top middle and end stuck while the coaster went ever so slowly while they try to rescue them. The ride was awsome when it was not broken but now that i have the chance of dieing on it i dont know if i will ever go on it again????

    Matthew - July 1st, 2013 at 8:28 am

  187. I went on the zipper with my younger cousin and sister last night and we only wanted to go on once and the first ride was fine and super fun! 8 spins in a row :) but once it was time for us to get off the carnies wouldn’t let us off and trapped us in there for another ride no matter how loud we were screamed at them to let us out, my sister had a panic attack and puked all over us and then my cousin started balling her eyes out. Don’t think ill ever ride the zipper again after that…

    Chloe - July 26th, 2013 at 7:46 am

  188. The zipper is amazing I was scared to go on it at first because I was only 8 but I’ve been riding it ever since its the best carnival ride ever made I’d say I’ve been on it about a good 30 to 40 times and it still is awesome I’m gona ride this til the day I die

    Brayden - August 2nd, 2013 at 4:52 am

  189. This ride is notorious for killing people. Sometimes the doors fly open and people fall out. This has happened 5 times my dad told me at the Benton County Fair. They even let my 5 year old sister ride and she’s only 48″ tall! I wouldn’t ride this ever because of the death rate on it!

    Hawk - August 8th, 2013 at 5:13 pm

  190. I remember when my cousin’s ‘forced’ me to go onto to this ride, and the side winder. The side winder was scary anough. I was about 11 yrs old. Holy cow, did it scare the crap out of me. But when the ride was over.. I couldn’t wait to get on it again!
Now, I am in my 40’s, and when the fair comes to town, this is the ONLY ride I will go on, as it is by far the best one. Most rides just spin and spin in the same direction, and it makes me nauseated. Because the zipper spins in all sorts of different directions, and throws you around like a rag doll, it’s just awesome. Best ride to take ppl on that have never been on it before. I just love the looks of their faces, when they go through their first spin,TERROR!
Can’t wait to ride it again!

    Paul - August 14th, 2013 at 8:09 am

  191. I was foreman of a Zipper for 4 seasons and the actual height is 57ft and the max weight per bucket is not 340lbs. Two grown men weigh more than that. In the manual received with the ride by Chance Rides, they only give an estimate of ride of amount of riders, not a total weight.

    Ken Brooks - August 26th, 2013 at 11:15 am

  192. I am so buying one of these whenever my parents win the lottery!!! I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS RIDE!!!!!!!!! ZIPPER 4 LIFE <3<3<3

  193. So, they made a film about the Zipper leaving Coney Island. Uh, why can’t we have the Zipper there again?! I love the rejuvenation of Luna Park and Coney Island, but I honestly think the rides are really tame and totally lame. The best city in the world deserves the best amusement’s in the world. I know that most of the rides are made by Zamperla, but wouldn’t it be cool if Coney Island was a showcase of the best flat rides ever made? And since the park is run so well, they could always keep the rides in tip-top condition and not have to worry about traveling them all over the country. I take rides VERY SERIOUSLY because they have provided me with some of the BEST memories and good times, that I’ve ever had. Let’s start a movement to bring the Zipper back! Hell, let’s get a Turbo!

  195. All you people you think the Zipper is such a wonderful ride, tell that to my friend in Bedford Co., Pa. Her 16 year old daughter was KILLED on this great ride. The door came open and she fell from the top of the ride to the ground hitting the cross bars on the way. You tell her what a wonderful ride this is.

    Harriet Clapper - October 25th, 2013 at 1:49 pm

  196. The Zipper is my favorite ride. Something about being in a cage with no control. I also love the Rocko O Plane that is awesome as well. The ride im dying to ride is the Skydiver but I cant find them around anywhere. When I ride that I will feel complete. Keep coming with crazier cage chance rides.

    Matthew Lozanov - January 26th, 2014 at 8:02 pm

  197. I just rode this ride earlier and thought I was going to die. I was sure the metal cage would open and I would plummet to an early grave. My body still hurts. Thanks, Zipper!

    Joe - October 5th, 2014 at 11:39 am

  204. i love the zipper but i love the twin flip better that ride comes too my fair and allows single rides it’s more crazy then zipper

    andrew - October 18th, 2014 at 2:00 pm

  205. As bad as it is to know that someone has gotten killed by the zipper, it is equally as bad to blame the ride. Stop blaming the ride, it is a machine that has nothing to do with anyone getting killed. if you are gonna blame anything try blaming the operater. come on people you are smaarter than that. I feel horrible to any one that lost a loved one or a friend to death on the zipper. I have been and still am an operater myself and i have never had an accident except a skinned knee. Also some shows dont keep the maintenance up like they should. They in my opinion are the most guilty of all. If you cant keep it maintained dont get a fucking zipper. its that easy.

    Anthony Dale - December 17th, 2014 at 12:21 pm

  206. The zipper is fun and they have one at the south florida fair and the florida state fair its the wildest ride there

    Green Ninja - January 12th, 2015 at 11:22 am

  207. the florida state fair i think has more rides these were good:
    Tango
    Fighter
    Freak Out
    Zipper
    Stinger
    Ferris Wheel(s)
    Gravatron
    And more

    Green Ninja - January 12th, 2015 at 11:24 am

  208. Zipper ride can be fun or nauseating, but for sure it is a gamble in safety if and when door locking problems do occur, even if many rides have no incidents.

Older models use a spring latch, a safety catch for the lapbar, and a pin inserted into a safety knob as a backup for the spring latch. That didn’t prevent an accident a few years ago–the operator forgot to put in the pin, so when the spring latch did fail, the lapbar catch also failed, and even the top hinge of the door secured by a backup cable broke off when the door fully opened. Each locking part should be independent of the other locking parts, and door hinges backed up by a cable should not be breaking off: unsafe!

Newer models use a top knob with a bolt that locks into a notch, a secondary slider bolt that locks into a hole, and there’s still the catch for the lapbar. However, operators still have to push the top knob towards the notch to make sure the safety bolt is fully in the notch, even when the springs should be strong enough to do that. When the seat is being rocked, the secondary slider lock can be seen moving back and forth in the locking hole, so over time either that hole is going to get larger or the slider lock is going to start to weaken from all that back and forth motion against the hole. Given that the lapbar catch is the same design as the older model, I know I wouldn’t trust it to hold if both the knob lock and slider lock both failed.

So, it’s clear enough to me that Zipper safety doesn’t actually have three locks–it has three locking components that combine for a single lock.

And it’s only door design problems that make the ride scary. It’s only 50 feet high at the top of the boom when it’s fully vertical. It doesn’t rise to 66 feet, spin the center, spin the arms in the center that start flipping the seats like a Tango ride does.

    RideSafetyAdvocate - February 25th, 2015 at 10:28 pm

  209. MY COMMENT TO YOU RIDE SAFETY ADVOCATE IS THAT YOU ARE A DUMBASS! YOU CONSTANTLY CONTRODICT YOURSELF THROUGH YOUR ENTIRE COMENT ABOUT THE ZIPPER. IF THE OPERATOR DOES HIS JOB AND THE SHOW HAS THE PROPPER MAINTENANCE SCHEDUAL THE ZIPPER IS A VERRY SAFE RIDE. BUT FOR YOU TO BE SO ARROGANT AND BLAME THE RIDE FOR WHAT IS THE SHOWS FAULT OR THE NEGLEGENCE OF THE OPERATOR IS VERRY ARROGENT. I WOULD THINK AS A RIDE SAFETY ADVOCATE YOU WOULD BE ALOT SMARTER THAN THAT. I HOPE YOU ARE NOT A RIDE INSPECTOR, THATS FOR SURE. THE ZIPPER HAS OUT LIVED MANY RIDES NEWER AND STILL REMAINS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR RIDES ON THE MIDWAYS AROUND THE WORLD. THAT BEING SAID, FROM THE THE ZIPPER TO ME TO YOU. “BITE ME”

    ZIPPER QUEEN - March 12th, 2015 at 7:07 am

  210. Rode the zipper at the royal easter show in sydney australia in 2014, its already time for easter show 2015 and I am still traumatized from last year! It is seriously the most insane ride, from the constant violent spinning to looking down and seeing your in an old banged up rusty cage, holding on for dear life! went on with my girlfriend who is just about 5′ tall and she had a worse time than me haha, It was the first ride I went on that day (that was silly) and I was nauseous for the rest of the day so missed out on all the big cool ones haha, never again!!!! but props to all you adrenaline junkies that go on it over and over, youre a bunch of sicko’s haha
    peace!!!

    Gareth Brohier - April 1st, 2015 at 1:13 pm

  211. The “No Single Riders” policy is tyranny and is designed to purposely keep adults and singles from having fun! It is another part of the American philosophy of; “If you’re single, stay home! We don’t need you wasting our fresh air!” Grown adults especially can not turn sideways inside those capsules and slip their legs out from under the lap bar, and yet Chance Rides acts like human skeletons are made of cartilage or something! Like what does Chance Rides think they’re giving Zipper rides to, sharks?

    A rider - April 4th, 2015 at 3:48 am

  212. The older Zipper with the four push buttons can be controlled to continuously spin one tub. Saw one once at the MO State Fair, I stopped counting when one tub (with a lot lizard in it) did over 60 straight spins!

    Chris - April 7th, 2015 at 1:04 pm

  213. BY THE WAY JUST FOR YOUR INFORMATION IT IS POSSABLE FOR AN ADULT TO SLIDE OUT FROM BEHIND THE LAP BAR. IVE DONR IT. I WAY 205 POUNDS. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK CHANCE. KEEP THOSE ZIPPER SAFETY BULLETIN S COMMING. I TAKE THEM VERRY SERIOUS

    ZIPPER QUEEN - May 15th, 2015 at 5:23 pm

  214. Yeah, keep up the good work, Chance! Keep that single trash out of our sight! Single adults have no right even breathing our fresh air! You don’t have a boyfriend/girlfriend by high school graduation, you are useless trash that belongs in the sewer! In fact, there is even a Federal law that no person who is 18 or older shall ride the Zipper, partnered or single. Also, the maximum weight limit per rider, under Federal law, is 120 pounds.

    Zipper Queen - May 25th, 2015 at 6:11 am

  215. America is so jam packed full of hatred, it makes me sick! No wonder God is removing His blessings from this sick-ass nation people so proudly call (falsely) “Land of the Free!” I tell you, when God judges America for all the heavy hatred and discrimination, including “No Single Riders” policies at American carnivals, His judgement will be swift and just!

  216. Had so much fun last night on the zipper. I hate the lines though took half a hour.

    another rider - June 28th, 2015 at 3:06 pm

  217. It’s not discrimination trying to keep people and kids safe. U need to use what little bit of brain power u have left and realize rides have restriction s for a reason. So quit crying cause you are single and realize the rules for the zipper will remain the same. Not gonna change just cause ure a lonely guy that can’t get a girl.

    zipper Queen - July 3rd, 2015 at 2:43 pm

  218. It was fun until my brother’s head hit the door. And I hit my elbow on the side. I also hit my head on the ceiling but not as hard as my brother. I had to sit there screaming at the operator with a hurting head and elbow, nearly half the ride to get us down all the while my brother was screaming in my ear while suffering from shock. You could really work on the restraints more. Also the the thing was so rusted, I was surprised it didn’t fall! I agree with a comment I saw earlier about turning in old rides in exchange for new ones. That would increase the safety a lot!!!! Thank you for listening.

    Missingheart - July 12th, 2015 at 7:46 am

  219. Federal laws recently passed for the Zipper are as follows;

No person eighteen (18) years of age or older shall go on any Zipper at all, even with a partner; the Zipper is restricted by Federal law to teens seventeen (17) years of age and younger only!

Maximum weight limit as set by Federal law is one hundred twenty (120) pounds gross weight per rider!

No person of any age or weight shall ride single on any Zipper at all.

Any person who violates these laws is subject to arrest and will face up to one hundred (100) years to life in Federal prison. Use of Deadly Force Is Authorized!

    FBI Warning - July 22nd, 2015 at 5:16 pm

  220. I just got back from Ocean City, Maryland and I had a terrible experience this time on the Zipper. Two years ago, when I was a little heavier and went on the same Zipper, I was not thrown around the way I was this time. I do think the restraints should be worked on. I kept lifting out of my seat and slamming my head on the ceiling, and nearly fell right out of the lap bar. I am suffering from whip lash and can’t turn my head to the left without excruciating pain :( Was fun the first time, but surely not the second!!! I would definitely suggest a better restraint system. I never want to feel the pain I’m in again because of a ride! I am a ride enthusiast… and this sucks! LOL.. Just my experience though.. Enjoy your weekend!

    Brittay - July 25th, 2015 at 4:36 am

  221. Went on it today and threw up and hit my head got a concussion rolled around in puke wot experience ever better the 15 year or next to me had a hard liquor bottle with him and he dropped it then the ride operator acused me of being drunk and I’m only 14 and 90 pounds I wou almost die is I frank that stuff.

    Ian - August 15th, 2015 at 12:48 pm

  222. I love scary rides…. But this (strange for me to not enjoy) was so rough and traumatic to go on!! It was so loosely supported in the carriage, bangs to the head and head spins was not my ideal outcome!
Probably could be better if re-engineered to be more supportive in the carriage and a little smoother as you flip around… Such a sore back and headache!

    Melody - August 15th, 2015 at 7:24 pm

  223. My daughter and I went on this ride for the first time ever and it will be the last! When we got on the attendant was trying to get my daughter feet to rest on the cage and barely could reach with her toes. They let us ride without any precautions. My daughter was unable to push against the cage and therefore kept moving around and banged her head a couple time and I banged my head off the cage. The height regulations need to be revisited. We left the fair and she would not go on any other rides.

    Tracy - August 17th, 2015 at 10:54 am

  224. I think people need to be more observant of what a ride does before they get on it. T zipper has many warnings and signage that says that the ride is very violent. Read the signs people. NOT RESPONSABLE FOR LOST ARTICALS this includes quarters in you pocket. The zipper has been around since 1968 and is pretty much the same now as it was then. so quit complaining about the way you bang you head or the restraints if you ride properly and you are tall enough 48 inches or taller and there are two of you, the zipper is one of the most fun and well built carnival rides of all time. also it is the most mass produced ride in America ever. I am so happy to see the 2015 zipper. way to go chance rides.

    ZIPPER QUEEN - August 27th, 2015 at 4:28 am

  227. Stop carnival cruelty towards singles! Boycott Chance “North Korea” Rides inc and “No Single Riders” garbage! Even if you are with the largest group in the carnival, have a heart for singles! STAY OFF THE ZIPPER!!! I warn you sternly! If you go on the Zipper within any part of the USA or Canada, especially with a partner, you have allready SLAUGHTERED the ENTIRE single persons population nationwide in your heart!

Boycott Chance "North Korea" Rides - November 21st, 2015 at 3:45 pm

  228. If I owned a Zipper ride, mine would have signs that would say; “Single Riders Welcome!” And man, if I brought it to, for example, the Southwest Florida Lee County Fair in Fort Myers with signs saying “Single Riders Welcome”, man I could imagine probably having a line that would wrap about ten times around the circumference of the fair just to get a ride on my Zipper! I’d probably have to request the fair remain open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and continue for 3 months to accomodate all those people who seek to ride the Zipper!

  229. It may be legal to go on the Zipper if you’re 18 or older and/or you weigh more than 120 pounds, but still, stay off that ride until they get rid of that tyrannical “No Single Riders” cruelty! Even if they end up getting rid of the Zipper entirely!

  230. I remember riding this in the 70’s. I was too small and was thrown around inside the car and got pretty banged up. That was the only time I ever rode it. Still scares me to think about it!

    Kerri - December 2nd, 2015 at 1:30 pm

  231. Hey! Screw you boycott chance North Korea! The zipper is not designed to be rode by single riders. You people need to quit bitching about the single rider policy! Chance will never change that policy! The zipper will continue to be the most popular thrill ride in the world no matter how much you both and whine. Get over it.

  232. If Chance “Nazi Germany” Rides, Inc will never change that tyrannical policy, then ALL carnival companies shall be ordered to GET RID of ALL rides manufactured by that evil, cruel company! Replace them with more classic rides like the Rock-O-Plane, the Tempest, the Paratrooper, the Kamikaze, and such, even with a few newbies such as the Touchdown, the Huss Tornado, and the Twister/Crazy Dance.

  234. For everyone’s info by the way, the following rides are manufactured by Chance Rides, Inc; Zipper, Aviator, Carousel, Century Wheel, Giant Wheel, Freestyle, Pharaoh’s Fury, Revolution, Alpine Bobs, Yo-Yo, Wipeout, and Skydiver.

    Re; anthony - January 15th, 2016 at 4:37 pm

  235. So you’re saying the Zipper remains the most popular ride!? So in other words, American culture itself wishes sorely that it were Federal law that anyone who is not popular and does not belong to at least even a 10-person clique by high school graduation were arrested, tortured, and publicly executed! Like, let’s all murder and PULVERIZE every person not part of a clique or family! Like, let’s totally exterminate the entire singles population worldwide like an infestation of cockroaches! Like even, let’s even have the Army National Guard patrolling all American carnivals, soldiers armed with M-16s and grenades with orders of “Shoot to kill on sight” any person within the carnival or within a mile of the carnival who appears to be single, not part of a family or clique, and all!

Zipper most popular - January 15th, 2016 at 5:12 pm

  239. You who boycott Chance Rides, Inc, your rants will keep few if any people off the Zipper and rides manufactured by Chance Rides. The Bible already predicted a long time ago an era where people will become evil, selfish, greedy, discriminating, hateful, traitorous, empty of love, yes, even spreading destructive gossip on others and boasting heavily on it. That is the EXACT type of culture that exists right now in America! Americans live like demons. American culture itself absolutely hates, loathes, and literally even steps on the faces of people who are single, less popular, people who are not part of a clique, who are not as well off as they are. In America, singles are even called derogatory names even such as “creep,” “loser,” yes, even “sex predator.” America itself is spoiled rotten to the very core! Practically even to the point of becoming, all in itself, a total abomination to God! America is already worse than Sodom and Gomorrah!

  245. You who boycott Chance Rides, Inc, as you can see, American culture itself, right down to it’s very molecular level, is absolutely pulsing with hatred! You will likely need a whole lot more than even the fictional Dust of Broken Heart from the 1988 movie “Willow” to make even a single American, let alone groups of them, have any love towards others. Even if you dumped an entire 55-gallon drum of Dust of Broken Heart on a single clique, or even a cubic mile of the stuff on a typical county fair, you would get very little if any effect, American people’s hearts are that hard.

    Tommy - February 9th, 2016 at 11:33 am

  246. Whoever you are boycotting the Zipper, you just wait until the Antichrist and his mark (the implantable RFID chip) are revealed! Already, the chip has been produced, and when it becomes commonplace in America, Americans will absolutely be RUSHING, like the waters over the Horseshoe Falls on the Niagara River, to get it implanted! Chances are, the vast majority of Americans won’t even care or want to hear that they are going to Hell for taking the chip, in fact some may even boast about being “on the Highway to Hell” when they have the chip! And guess what? It is a matter of time before Christianity becomes illegal in America, for when America collapses, out of the rubble will emerge a Godless, totalitarian dictatorship, easily even worse than North Korea! And there are people predicting that America will collapse this very year (2016)!

  250. In fact, one of these days, people in those tight knit cliques will figure to start bringing guns to carnivals and then start shooting/gunning down people who appear to be single that are at the carnival! And then before you know it, unless metal detectors are installed, carnivals and county fairs will become a downright deadly and life threatening place for singles to go!

    Tommy - February 15th, 2016 at 2:48 pm

  252. New Federal laws for all carnivals;

Singles, Absolutely NO waiting for a ride partner for the Zipper or any ride at all.

Under absolutely NO circumstances at all whatsoever shall any single person ask around if any other person is available to ride with him or her.

Violations are thoroughly investigated by the FBI, the United States Department of Homeland Security, the United States Marshals, the United States Army National Guard, and carry a mandatory minimum, not maximum, sentence of one hundred thirty five (135) years to life in Federal supermax prison without the possibility of parole.

    Use of Deadly Force Authorized!

    FBI Warning - February 18th, 2016 at 2:31 pm

  253. In fact, in American culture, over 95 percent of situations, disagreements, and such, are settled with guns! Literally, a few bangs, someone ends up dead, issue solved American style! So not only do Americans today live like demons, they have become more deadly than ever to even be near! And it’s rapidly getting worse! It is but a matter of time, unless it has already happened, before someone at a carnival, even in line for a ride, gets gunned down and murdered because he is single! All because of the pulsing hatred Americans carry towards others, especially single people.

    Tommy - February 19th, 2016 at 12:42 pm

  254. Thank you zipper rides comment, somebody has a brain. As for you Tommy, your are looniier than loony tunes. Get a grip on life dude and stay away from the Zipper if u hate it. The ride rules will never change!

    Zipper Queen - February 21st, 2016 at 7:16 am

  255. And by the way! Most zipper operators will try there best to find single riders somebody to ride with. The Zipper does not discriminate! How dare you suggest we do that. You don’t have to be in a click to ride the Zipper, u just have to follow the rules like everybody else. Bring a friend or wait to be paired up with another single rider. It’s not a big deal! Have a fun summer zipper riders!!!

    Zipper Queen - February 21st, 2016 at 7:28 am

  256. Look, Zipper queen! I tried to get paired up with someone to ride the Zipper at a carnival in Countryside, Illinois and nearly got arrested for it! If I could have, I would have put gigantic signs up that said that the carnival was forbidden to adults under Illinois law, that only children and teens 17 and younger were allowed to enter, and that violation was punishable by up to 55 years in prison! If I could have, I would have literally conjured gates with signs saying; No adults 18 or older; must be 17 or younger to enter! No singles at all. You must have no fewer than 6 people to enter. Weight limit for the Zipper; 110 pounds per person or 180 pounds combined gross weight. Military enforced. Violators subject to arrest, up to 55 years in prison.

Re; zipper queen - February 22nd, 2016 at 5:48 am

  257. Additionally, if I could have, I would have made the signs even say; Warning! Patrolling military personell will immediately use lethal force without warning on any person who appears single that tries to enter the carnival and does not fully cooperate with police!

Re; zipper queen - February 22nd, 2016 at 5:50 am

  258. In fact, now that I know the nationwide situation with “No Single Riders,” it’s like I may as well just magically, with a wave of a magic wand, conjure up, out of thin air, signs that say; Singles are forbidden under Federal law within less than 3 miles of any carnival, county fair, and festival. All carnivals are patrolled by the United States Military. Violators will face up to 300 years to life imprisonment and military personell will use deadly force without warning. Many times, I even have thoughts of, waving that same wand, conjuring up images of entire platoons of military soldiers armed with M-16s and hand grenades plus squadrons of F-16 fighter jets zooming overhead guarding every carnival nationwide like Area 51 and appearing just ready to blast anyone who appears single.

Re; zipper queen - February 22nd, 2016 at 5:57 am

  259. Before the “No Single Riders” tyranny took over, the Zipper was an all time favorite ride of mine! When they still used to allow single riders, I would go on at least 3 times, and often even 4 and 5 times within a 3 to 4 hour period! Sometimes I even went on the Zipper twice in a row!

Re; zipper queen - February 22nd, 2016 at 6:01 am

  260. NO zipper operator nationwide would EVER try to pair up a single rider with someone! None of them will even designate a bench or something as a “Single Rider’s waiting area.” As far as I know, American zipper operators would rather shoot and kill a single rider than try to pair him/her up with someone.

Re; zipper queen - February 22nd, 2016 at 6:04 am

  261. And in fact, as far as I know, the carnival ride insurance companies and Chance Rides, Inc would just as much if not more love to see singles slaughtered, executed, and annihilated nationwide.

Re; zipper queen - February 22nd, 2016 at 6:27 am

  262. My guess is, the insurance companies and Chance “Nazi Germany” Rides, Inc even strictly forbid ride operators from pairing a single rider with someone. My guess is, their orders to ride operators in regards to single riders is; “Shove them away! Tell them to go away! Put them out of sight and out of mind! And if the single rider refuses to leave, you are to call the police immediately and have the single person arrested and charged with loitering, stalking, and harassment.”

Re; zipper queen - February 22nd, 2016 at 6:31 am

  263. As you can clearly see, boycotter, America has become an extremely hostile country for singles. America, in and of itself, has become even a rip in the very fabric of society and community.

    Tommy - February 23rd, 2016 at 6:36 am

  264. Not only will the ride rules never change, chances are, they will get worse. A lot worse! In fact, there may even come a time, literally, where not only will singles be banned from all fairs and carnivals nationwide by Federal law, but you may have to even be with a group of even 6 or more people to enter a carnival or county/state fair, even a Six Flags amusement park!

    Tommy - February 23rd, 2016 at 7:04 am

  265. Additionally, a growing number of states, including but not limited to Florida, Texas, Indiana, Alaska, and Michigan, allow people to carry concealed weapons and even have Stand Your Ground laws! That means, someone in especially a clique, even at a carnival or county fair in those states, can gun down and murder someone because he is single and then brag in court that he was threatening or posed a threat to him/her and/or his/her clique. In America, single guys especially are looked upon like sex predators, creeps, yes, even serial rapists! Many who are in cliques, when they see especially a single guy, they see the visage of even a notorious serial rapist/killer like even Ted Bundy and/or John Wayne Gacy!

Indeed, America itself is a rip in the very fabric of society, culture, and community! Singles are going to have to leave the United States of America if they want to mingle!

    Tommy - February 23rd, 2016 at 7:15 am

  266. Americans are far worse still! They are killing their own children! Some when the baby is born, many through abortion! And there are even women that are BOASTING about their abortions! They are getting and wearing T shirts that say; “I Had An Abortion”! When Jesus returns to the Earthly domain, He will be absolutely FURIOUS with America!

    Tommy - February 23rd, 2016 at 7:34 am

  267. I think all you people are nuts! It’s like its not even about a carnival ride. What the fuck are you people running your mouth about, it has nothing to do with the zipper or any other carnival ride. It’s like your form another planet. It’s like I feel less smarter allowing myself to be part of this conversation! By the way for who ever the dildoe is that said the zipper dpid not used to have the no single rider policy, YOU ARE WRONG the zipper has always had that policy. Quit crying about something you will never change!

    zipper queen - February 25th, 2016 at 7:04 pm

  268. I was just at the Southwest Florida & Lee County Fair. Man, do Americans live like the devil! I even saw a tricycle parked in the parking lot with signs all over it literally boycotting Chance Rides, Inc and telling everyone to stay off everything manufactured by them! But when I get in, HUGE line for the Zipper! Huge lines also for Pharaoh’s Fury, the Yo-Yo, and both ferris wheels, all of which were on the Do Not Ride list in the parking lot! This country is headed straight into the Dark Side!

    Tommy - February 27th, 2016 at 5:18 pm

  269. Actually, the Zipper DID NOT always have a “No Single Riders” policy! People went on the Zipper single even as recently as 2005, and they allowed it at that time and in earlier years. It wasn’t until around 2006 or 2007 that every single carnival company started enforcing it like crazy. Also, even the bulletin that started the tyranny states that “No Single Riders” is not practical or suitable in all circumstances, and that it is up to the individual owner/operator to either enforce it, or allow singles on the ride. But since at least 2007 or so, reportedly even the big, fat bureaucratic insurance guys are in on it and ordering every single operator to enforce it as if it were Federal law, straight from Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, and even as if the operator were to face prison for letting singles on the Zipper!

Boycott No Single Riders - February 27th, 2016 at 5:28 pm

Boycott No Single Riders - February 27th, 2016 at 5:30 pm

  271. Single people have absolutely no freaking business wasting our air! We were at the Southwest Florida & Lee County Fair last Friday night and saw a guy who looked like he was by himself. White male, dark brown hair, balding at the top, glasses, wearing a maroon Hooters hoodie. He looked really creepy and totally freaky! I was with a group of eight girls, and that guy gave us a really scary look when we saw him walk by the Zipper with us in line. Man, did all of us want to blast that fucker’s brains and guts right out of his skull! Six of us had guns on us and were about to whip them out and blast his creepy ass right on the pavement, but unfortunately there were two Sheriff’s officers nearby, so we couldn’t shoot him! Even though Florida has a Stand Your Ground law, we just couldn’t risk spending the night in jail because we shot that creep who was by himself, even though we would have told the court that he posed a threat to us and our friends. As for your whining, Tommy, it makes us sick! Singles belong dead and buried six feet in the ground! They are a waste of our air and our oxygen! They are creepy, they are ugly, they really freak us and everybody out. You’re not part of a clique by high school, you are a sore loser who has no business wasting our food, water, and our air!

    Zipper Clique - February 29th, 2016 at 5:03 am

  272. Were it not for those two Sheriff’s deputies there at the time, the Southwest Florida & Lee County Fair on Friday February 26th 2016 would have absolutely become a bloodbath and guts scene as well as one less single piece of shit wasting our oxygen! After we rode the Zipper, to our disappointment, that single piece of shit had vanished into the crowd somewhere and we couldn’t find him anymore. Unless he must have already left the fair, because we saw him at least once or twice before we got in line for the Zipper.

    Zipper Clique - February 29th, 2016 at 5:12 am

  273. No matter how much all you cry babies whine and bitch about the rules of the zipper, they will never change! The ride has had a no single rider policy since the day it rolled off the show room floor at chance. The only thing that has changed is the height requirement. I think anybody that says a zipper man wouldn’t try to pair up single riders is a liar! I know I would for sure because I want your quarters! I am done on here because you guys and gals are nuts and not worth my time! I have to go work on my beautiful 2000 model zipper. All you ZIPPER riders have a fun summer and ride the shit out of the zipper. As for you other douchbags f*”k off

    zipper queen - March 5th, 2016 at 6:57 am

  274. The no single riders “rule” has always been a recommendation from Chance, but up until the early to mid 2000s the operator had a level of discretion on whether they enforced it. The first time I went on a Zipper in the mid 90s at the Indiana State Fair, I went on it by myself so some operators did allow it at one time. Not sure whether its a government regulation or the insurance companies but now they all have the no single riders rule and enforce it very strictly and that will never change because without significant modifications to the cage it is very dangerous for single riders.

    Mike - March 9th, 2016 at 5:19 am

  275. Posts 315 and 316 were certainly hurtful! I totally can not believe how evil American society has become! No wonder singles are such common targets for crime in America. And now with cliques wanting to gun down people who are single because they are single! Time for all singles to flee America immediately!

    Tommy - March 10th, 2016 at 7:19 am

  276. From what I read, it’s those tyrannical insurance companies! Rumor has it that, if any Zipper operator lets a single rider on, their insurance would likely get suspended or revoked! How totally uncivilized! Then again, from the way they do these carnivals, it may as well even be a capital felony, punishable by even 300 years to life imprisonment, for singles to even be within less than 25 miles of a carnival/county fair!

    zipper queen - March 16th, 2016 at 1:30 pm

  279. You people really think a single rider can turn sideways inside those cages on the Zipper and slip out from under that lap bar!? GIVE US VIDEO PROOF OF IT!!!!! Give us PROOF that a grown man can turn sideways and slip out from under that lap bar! Do an experiment! Have a few people of different heights volunteer to get locked, alone, inside the Zipper cage and give them a certain time frame in which they shall attempt to turn sideways and slip out from under the lap bar! Videotape it! Put it on Youtube! Then maybe I might believe their “bulletins.”

    Mercury - March 19th, 2016 at 12:14 pm

  280. I happen to have been a Zipper operator for several years and I can tell you the “no single riders” policy actually reads like this: It was noted that smaller passengers could intentionally maneuver themselves out from under the lap bar if riding alone. Therefore they recommend that people be prohibited from riding alone, but exceptions CAN be made at the operators discretion. And we do make exceptions. Another reason for not allowing single riders is the importance of balancing the load, (notice how we load the cages from end to end rather than in order?) a slight imbalance can cause the cable to “roll” which means the ride will start moving while loading passengers which is very dangerous for the riders and the operators as well. I have made exceptions for unusually large riders and I have found other single riders to pair together more times than I can begin to count. The fact that people think a simple safety rule is some kind of conspiracy against single people is probably a big clue as to why you don’t have any friends to ride with in the first place. Get over it.

    Kerry Goodwin - March 20th, 2016 at 1:10 pm

  281. But they are enforcing it as if it says; It is noted that even grown men absolutely WILL maneuver themselves out from under the lap bar; even someone 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing even 500 pounds absolutely will turn sideways and slip out from under the lap bar as easily as a toddler can and will slip through a hula hoop. This IS a conspiracy against single people! Their philosophy of single people is direct; Out of sight and out of mind!

    Mercury - March 22nd, 2016 at 7:33 am

  282. Hey, guess what? We shot and killed a single man at the Collier County Fair this past Saturday, and we are absolutely proud of it! We were in line for a ride called the Stinger when we saw a single piece of shit in line for our ride! Boy were we glad to put that fucker out of mind! We had ten in our group, all of us armed with revolvers, all ten of us, on my command, whipped them out and fired at him at the same time, four rounds through his head, six through his upper torso! Oh, how totally hilarious and funny it was to see his brains and guts blast out of his body like a geyser as he fell to the ground, even as everyone ran away screaming like crazy! And guess what? No cops nearby either, so we got away with it! Not to mention a much shorter line, too, so we had fun.

    Zipper Clique - March 22nd, 2016 at 8:35 am

  283. Again, single people are fucking pieces of smelly shit that have no business wasting our oxygen, water, and food! If I were President of America, every single person who was not part of at least a 6-person or larger clique by the end of their Freshman year of high school would be tracked down, arrested, tortured, and then publicly executed. No questions asked, and no second chances! And guess what else? Later that day, there was a man in a wheelchair blocking our way to one of the games, and you know what we did? We shoved him hard over, right out of his chair! Watched him smack his head right on the concrete pavement! Piece of shit that guy was, blocking our path!

    Zipper Clique - March 22nd, 2016 at 8:40 am

  284. Mercury, why don’t you just stay in your fucking dungeon and rot away! You’re single, you have no fucking business wasting our air, food, and water! Stay away from our carnivals, too, or you’ll be next to have our lead right in through your back, exactly like that single creep we shot dead already at the Collier County Fair on Saturday March 19th, 2016!

  285. P.S. Universal Studios ought to be fucking sued and shut down for having separate lines just for singles/single riders! Either send those single shits scurrying out of sight like mice, or shoot and kill them like wild dogs!

    Zipper Clique - March 22nd, 2016 at 8:46 am

  286. Typical! Exactly how everything today is settled in America. With guns! A few bangs, someone ends up dead, issue solved the American way. To Americans, killing a person they don’t like brings no more guilt and/or shame than killing a mosquito!

    Tommy - March 23rd, 2016 at 6:15 am

  287. ZIPPER clique, I think you are fucking more loony than bugs bunny! Whats your fucking problem!!! Can’t you get layed? I swear u must have a pathetic life if all you can do is both about a single rider policy on a carnival ride. Get a grip dude. Or get help! Omg!!!

    zipper queen - March 26th, 2016 at 10:28 am

  288. Tommy! U are fucking wrong! The ZIPPER has forever had a no single rider policy! Do your fucking homework douhbag!!!!!!!

    zipper queen - March 26th, 2016 at 11:03 am

  289. So according to you, anyone who says they’ve ridden single on the Zipper even in 1993 is a liar!? I have ridden single on the Zipper as recently as 2005!

Re; zipper queen - March 26th, 2016 at 5:24 pm

  290. Another huge issue too; Chance Rides won’t even bother to even THINK about redesigning the gondolas to safely accomodate single riders! They think singles would turn sideways and slip out from under the lap bar, they ought to have made the gondolas, especially on all newer Zippers, so that the back exterior goes inward forming a vertical ridge down the middle of the gondola, jutting into the interior of the gondola and forming a barrier inside the gondola that would prevent single riders from ever turning sideways and slipping out from under the lap bar.

But according to Chance Rides; no we couldn’t do that! We aren’t designing new Zippers to safely accomodate single riders! We are going to continue to isolate and quarantine all who are single and tell them; either join a clique, or go back into your mother’s basement!

Boycott No Single Riders - March 26th, 2016 at 5:38 pm

  291. I mean literally, instead of building all new Zippers to safely accomodate single riders, Chance rides wants to continue to just sweep all single people out of sight and out of mind!

Boycott No Single Riders - March 26th, 2016 at 5:42 pm

  292. I’m am just gonna put it like this! Fuck single riders! You take up my line space and throw my ride out of balance!

    zipper queen - March 27th, 2016 at 12:54 am

  293. We are going to put it like this! Shoot and KILL ALL single people like wild fucking dogs! They are a fucking WASTE of our oxygen, food, and water! Chance Rides, you keep making those Zippers like you are! What all our carnivals NEED is a military guarded entrance and soldiers armed with M-16s and hand grenades and orders of “Shoot to Kill” anyone who looks single who tries to enter! You’re not popular, you belong six feet UNDER GROUND! Out of our sight and out of our minds!

    Zipper Clique - March 27th, 2016 at 9:58 am

  294. What a horrible, rotten and spoiled society America has become! Fake, plastic, toxic, soulless, whatever social atmosphere there is in America is confined to closed cliques, and now rules designed to deliberately shove single Americans out of society. And indeed, Chance Rides Inc is totally not customer friendly AT ALL! American carnivals have become hotbeds of cruel rejection for singles! Not to mention the deadly gun culture that America has become, too!

No wonder so many people are fleeing this social toxic dump known as the United States of America!

    happierabroad - March 28th, 2016 at 9:18 pm

  295. U morons just don’t get it! It’s not that zipper operaters have a problem with single riders! The zipper is designed to have two people per tub, it’s a balance thing. If I let a single rider on it throws the whole ride out of balance. So let’s act like grown up boys and girls and lets all have a fun summer and enjoy the best ride in the world. THE CHANE ZIPPER!

    zipper queen - April 5th, 2016 at 7:31 pm

  296. And enjoy putting all singles out of sight and out of mind! And telling all singles; go back to the dungeons and hide! I am starting to really agree with happierabroad, America really is spoiled evil to the core!

Boycott No Single Riders - April 6th, 2016 at 1:55 pm

  297. Throws the ride out of balance my rear! I don’t recall the Zipper looking or feeling off balance when I used to ride alone. The Rock-o-Plane, last time I checked, still allows single riders! And it appears on Youtube videos to operate just fine with single riders; in fact, you can not even tell if there are single riders on the Rock-o-Plane! Only a Zipper with absolutely no brakes on the cable and pulley system that pulls the cages around the boom would have problems with balance caused by a single rider. Also it isn’t just zipper operators; the insurance companies and Chance Rides have huge mental problems just seeing single people in society and want to put all singles out of sight and out of mind like homeless people.

Boycott No Single Riders - April 6th, 2016 at 2:05 pm

  298. When are you going to get it? America is evil. Americans live like demons; yes, even like the devil himself. In fact, Americans are even known to do the opposite of what boycotters tell them to do! Americans care about absolutely nobody but themselves and only themselves. You’re not keeping anyone off the Zipper. In fact, you are actually bringing far MORE people to the Zipper! In a society like America where most every conflict is resolved with only guns and someone ending up dead, trying to stem the flood only makes it worse. You are beating a dead horse, and you are trying to pierce hearts made of iron and stone.

    Preacher - April 6th, 2016 at 5:35 pm

  299. I tell you what! Next time I have a single rider, I will let them ride at the busiest time of my day, and when I let that single rider off and the next two are getting in and the tub starts going up very quickly and putting my passengers as well as my patrons in dander, I will think of you! You really need to grow up and like I have said many times, THE ZIPPER HAS ALWAYS BEEN 2 PEOPLE PER TUB!I don’t know who let you ride alone, but holy shit your sure sour towards a ride that never did a fucking thing to you! Remember the zipper is a ride, man makes the decision of the rules of it!

    zipper queen - April 7th, 2016 at 12:49 pm

  300. THANK YOU SO MUCH PREACHER! IM GLAD SOMEONE MAKES SOME SENSE ON HERE!

    zipper queen - April 7th, 2016 at 12:50 pm

  301. So according to you then, it was always FBI law from 1968 that nobody single was ever under any circumstances to ride the Zipper and/or that I am the only person in all of world history to have ever ridden single on the Zipper!? You’re sounding like you were born in 2006.

Re; zipper queen - April 7th, 2016 at 3:37 pm

  302. Just the rules of the rid! Best. Ride ever!!!!¡ fuck u singles

    zipper queen - April 8th, 2016 at 1:30 pm

  303. Face it! Singles in America will just have to stay away from all carnivals and county fairs. Pretend like all American county fairs are already Martial law zones guarded by loaded army tanks, armed Humvees, F-16s guarding the air space, troops armed with M-16s and hand grenades; pretend that it is far easier to burglarize Area 51 without getting arrested than it is to enter even within less than one mile of an American carnival/county fair without getting blasted by M-16 fire, shot by a tank’s cannon, or even blown to smithereens by a shower of AGM-65 Mavericks from the sky.

Again, if you’re a single person looking to have fun, you seriously are going to have to leave the United States of America. America is an extremely hostile country to be single in.

Not only will “No Single Riders” never go away, it will in fact get far worse in the future. And in the future, unless metal detectors are erected, single people will start getting gunned down for real at American carnivals and county fairs.

    Preacher - April 9th, 2016 at 8:35 am

  304. By the way Tommy, I am a guy, just so you know! I don’t singles, I d hate when they bitch and moan when I do my damnedest to pair them with other singles. ” I DONT KNOW THAT PERSON, I DONT WANNA RIDE WITH SOMEONE I DONT KNOW” Thats all I hear every time I try to pair up singles! By the way you dildoe, I never said the FBI makes the rules for the zipper! Get a grip dude!!!!

    zipper queen - April 9th, 2016 at 2:31 pm

  305. DON’T ever pair single riders up with someone! Shoot and kill them like the fucking ass dogs they are! Wasting our air and oxygen, taking up room in our society, put them six feet underground! Boycotter, you are a fucking sore loser and belong in the ground! When there’s a carnival in your area, stay the fuck home or we will kill you! As for you Zipper queen/Zipper king, you need to learn some defensive moves to keep single shits out of sight and out of mind!

    Kill the single bastards, Kill!

    Zipper Clique - April 15th, 2016 at 7:35 am

  306. What a horrible, evil comment by Zipper Clique! Goes to show how absolutely evil to the core America has become!

    zipper queen - May 12th, 2016 at 10:30 am

  309. My first time it scared the Hell out of me in 1970 but after that it’s the ride I look for. Love that ride. Really gets the blood flowing. One of my favorites.

    Messed - May 12th, 2016 at 7:45 pm

  310. I agree preacher, The Zipper The zipper clique are nutts! No zipper man would not pair up riders, we want there quarters!!! LOL! Have a great day!

    zipper queen - May 19th, 2016 at 9:21 am

  311. For the past two year the zipper has not shown up at any of the carnivals it’s really disappointing when neither the zipper or the starship 3000 and you are still paying for tickets that are more expensive than the wristbands most of the time. $45 for a wrist band and what about going on the zipper it’s like 8 tickets

    Grande Prairie - May 31st, 2016 at 2:44 am

  312. Go on the Zipper or any ride manufactured by Chance Rides Inc in America or Canada, and you have already slaughtered the entire singles population in your heart!

The Zipper really ought to be replaced by something more singles-friendly like the Rock-O-Plane.

Re; Grande Prairie - June 1st, 2016 at 2:43 am

  313. I think unreasonable singles should be put in there place! Grow the fuck up and realize the rules will never change for the zipper. It’s been the same SINCE 1968 when the best ride ever was created! Thank you Joseph brown! What a genius!

    zipper queen - June 6th, 2016 at 5:54 pm

  314. Obviously, that is why all carnivals ought to just get rid of Everything manufactured by Chance Rides! Get rid of the Zipper, get rid of Pharaoh’s Fury, get rid of the Wipeout, Yo-Yo, Giant Wheel, Alpine Bobs, Carousel, everything made by Chance Rides Inc! Replace them all with rides that are NOT manufactured by Chance Rides Inc such as the Rock-o-Plane, Paratrooper, Kamikaze, Tempest, Touchdown, and such.

Re; zipper queen - June 8th, 2016 at 3:19 am

  315. You fail to realize that chance is the largest ride manufacturer in the world. They are not going anywhere!

    zipper queen - June 9th, 2016 at 1:09 am

  316. Prince John, you fail to realize that America is the devil’s dungeon! America is evil to her very core. Americans live like demons and will never stay off anything manufactured by Chance. If anything, they’ll go on rides manufactured by Chance more than ever before. They may soon even start bringing guns to carnivals and county fairs, and gunning down all single people.

    Preacher - June 9th, 2016 at 4:55 am

  317. You also fail to realize that, when a big disaster hits America, American hearts only grow a lot harder. Also they rebuild bigger than ever before. “The bricks are down, but we will rebuild with hewn stone. The sycamores are toppled, but we will replace them with cedars.” That exact scenario describes America!

    Preacher - June 9th, 2016 at 4:59 am

  318. Chances are, if the Chance Rides factory gets hit by a tornado and destroyed, they will just rebuild it and make it like a nuclear bunker. And if an anti-“No Single Riders” protest breaks out, chances are they’ll order all carnivals nationwide patrolled by the U.S. Army National Guard. Loaded tanks, M-16s, bazookas, armed humvees, F-16 fighter jets, AH-64 Apaches, blackhawks, full Martial law even up to 5 miles away from the carnival, and the use of maximum lethal force being authorized and recommended.

    Preacher - June 9th, 2016 at 5:03 am

  319. Face it! America is the devil! You’re single and want to have fun, you’re gonna have to leave America! Otherwise, America is a restricted and enforced All-Work-No-Play zone! In America, you are even expected to be a workaholic! All 7 days a week, no less than 84 hours a week, yes, even getting no more than 6 hours of sleep a night!

    Preacher - June 9th, 2016 at 5:09 am

  320. Kill the single bastards, Kill!

    Kill the singles, Kill!

    Kill the singles, Kill!

Get rid of the single sore losers! Put them in the ground! Destroy them permanently! And go to fucking hell, boycotter! We don’t need your fucking shit in our society! We don’t need you fucking wasting our oxygen!

    Zipper clique - June 9th, 2016 at 6:36 am

  321. And by the way, us shooting and killing that single bastard at the 2016 Collier County Fair really cracked us up laughing hysterically! About six of the other ladies in my group just couldn’t stop giggling and laughing hysterically at the single man’s blood and guts shooting like a geyser out his forehead and chest! As did shoving that wheelchair man over head first into the concrete pavement! A couple of us even videotaped it and we still totally laugh hysterically at the single guy going down in a geyser of blood and that wheelchair guy whacking his head hard on concrete pavement!

    Zipper clique - June 9th, 2016 at 6:40 am

  322. I can’t bear to read Zipper Clique’s posts anymore! When God judges this world, I can easily bet America will get the first judgements!

    Preacher - June 10th, 2016 at 3:00 am

  323. We have four people, two lesbian women weighing 120 pounds each and two guys weighing 180 pounds each. The guys are not gay, however, neither of the women will ride with the guys because they are lesbian. The two ladies put together in one cage have a combined weight of 240 pounds. Simultaneously, the two guys put in another cage have a combined weight of 360 pounds. You have an off-balance weight of 120 pounds! Now let’s say you take away one of the guys and let the remaining guy ride single. Now we have 240 pounds in one cage and 180 pounds in the other cage.

You have REDUCED the imbalance in the ride by 60 pounds!

    Balance - June 24th, 2016 at 1:36 pm

  324. Listen to me all you crazy fucks!the ZIPPER is the most popular carnival ride in the world next to the Ferris wheel! I have been a zipper man for 15 years. So all you cry babies that think zipper men are out to single you out can fuck off! I will always do my damndest to pair you up with another single. So zipper clique you can fuck off! The zipper will remain to be the most popular ride despite your loony tune thoughts! Fuck off!!!!!!

    zipper queen - June 29th, 2016 at 9:28 pm

  325. Chance Rides took down my drawings depicting the impossibility of grown adults turning sideways inside the gondolas and slipping out from under the lap bar and blocked me and one of my friends from their Facebook page. Even drawings depicting a lattice of rubber coated steel bars in the middle of the gondolas that would divide the gondola interiors into two halves to surely prevent single riders from ever turning sideways and slipping out from under the lap bar, for their present remodeling of the Zipper.

Clearly, Chance Rides can’t possibly be doing something other than preparing for full military and Martial law action at American carnivals. My guess is, Chance Rides Inc just as much wants to see would-be single riders staring down the barrels of loaded M-16 assault rifles as Zipper Clique does!

    Howard Payne - July 18th, 2016 at 12:20 pm

  326. Americans are cold, callous, and cruel towards one another! American culture is described as follows; Toxic, soulless, disconnected, inauthentic, fake, plastic, superficial, and rotten to the core! ALL socializing is restricted to within closed cliques. People who don’t have friends or are not popular by senior year of high school remain isolated permanently. Americans are paranoid, spoiled, and hateful of one another. Approach an American ESPECIALLY in a safe, quiet neighborhood and they SCURRY like wild scared rabbits like you’re going to blast him/her flat with an AK-47 and/or detonate Tsar Bomba in his/her neighborhood!

Single riders NEVER get paired up with strangers in this toxic social dump called America! NO way in the world! And Zipper operators know that nobody in this pathetic, toxic, disconnected culture wants to ride with a stranger!

    Abroad - July 18th, 2016 at 5:33 pm

  327. OMG! Rode this Friday night at the fair for the first time in my life (I am 51 yrs old). 100% guarantee I will never get on it again! This is the scariest ride. Not for anyone who gets motion sick. So glad I upchucked after I got off the ride and not while I was on it.

    Lori - July 19th, 2016 at 2:18 pm

  328. Well all you crazy fucks that have so much negative things to say about America’s favorite upside down ride of all time, the ZIPPER QUEEN is retiring for good. So you just keep up the negativity and you will still loose the battle. They started the ZIPPER in production again last year so ha ha. The ride still has the no single rider policy too! BEST RIDE OF ALL TIME!!! FOREVER AND EVER!

    zipper queen - July 29th, 2016 at 8:03 am

  329. “What a horrible, evil comment by Zipper Clique!”

Figures you’d know, “Preacher”, as it’s clear as day that you’re the same person who wrote that comment! Inventing this convoluted narrative to justify your angst. Why keep coming back to throw the same tantrum over and over, just under different monikers?

And why the hell are you so insistent on riding this Zipper anyway? This prehistoric hunk of scrap metal looks like it could kill any man, with or without a partner. I say those coupled riders can keep their spinning rat cage anytime!

Single Rider, Sound Mind - August 16th, 2016 at 9:23 am

  330. In such a toxic, soulless, venomous, disconnected culture like America, even God Himself could never pair up a single rider with another person to go on the Zipper, or any other ride at all for that matter.

Re; zipper queen - August 18th, 2016 at 12:51 pm

  331. I see quite a few of you saying that the “No Single Riders” thing is left to the decision of individual ride operators. Well, I really wish it was. And from about 2005 and earlier, it really was. But today, it’s enforced hard by the bureaucratic insurance companies! And guess what? Even the operators of the Zipper at Reithoffer Shows know that especially a full grown adult can never turn sideways inside the tubs and slip out of the lap bar. And yet they are required by the insurance company that they get their insurance from to enforce “No Single Riders” at all times.

I bet nobody here is willing to give up some names of insurance companies that supply carnival ride insurance to travelling midways such as Reithoffer Shows and Wade Shows on this forum, or is someone willing?

    Zipper King - August 18th, 2016 at 2:35 pm

  332. Is that the case? I suspected this whole thing was shrouded in paranoia. Now we know on whose behalf the paranoia emerged!

If I knew any insurance companies specializing in carnivals then I would be more than willing to contribute. But unfortunately I have not been able to look into that, so here’s hoping someone else can shed some light.

Single Rider, Sound Mind [[RE Zipper King]] - August 18th, 2016 at 3:45 pm

  333. Hey! Just found the insurance companies responsible for the plundering of all the fun for single riders on the Zipper! They are; T.H.E. Insurance company, located in Treasure Island, Florida, and Allied Specialty Insurance, also based in Treasure Island, Florida.

    Zipper King - August 20th, 2016 at 8:01 pm

  334. finally! now you cry babies can stop blaming the ride or operator! Its the damn insurance company!!!!

    zipper queen - September 16th, 2016 at 6:41 am

  335. I really think you people are nuts! Wow, I though Carnival people were crazy, now I know it’s every body else in the world. I don’t feel so crazy anymore!

    Zipper queen - October 18th, 2016 at 3:22 pm

  336. But behind the enforcement of “No Single Riders” by T.H.E. Insurance company and Allied Specialty Insurance is the manufacturer of the Zipper; the evil, selfish, and singles hating Chance Rides, Inc! And Chance Rides has proven themselves to be absolutely customer un-friendly, very selfish, wicked, spoiled, and rotten to the very core.

    Zipper King - October 27th, 2016 at 9:45 am

  337. In fact, Chance Rides likely even made a new anti-single riders lie for their newly refurbished Zipper with the new restraints, most likely even; “…the imbalance caused by single riders will cause catastrophic mechanical failure and a complete collapse of the entire ride resulting in certain death and serious injury.” Even as though the weight of a single rider will send an entire Zipper crashing to the ground as surely as if it were hit by a wind gust of even 1,000 miles per hour or stronger. Chance Rides Inc has declared war on single persons.

    Zipper King - October 27th, 2016 at 9:48 am

  338. Oh my God, you have got to be f****** me! You don’t realize that it isn’t one person that can bring the right crashing down to the ground it is everybody that sees that one person in line wanting to ride by themselves and then they want to ride by themselves. I am now and probably will always be a zipper operator. That does not mean that I will discriminate against single Riders it simply means that I will pair them up so I can get two things, there are quarters and their tickets all you fruitcakes out there wanna keep crying about the no single Rider policy on the zipper, just go up and talk to the zipper operator and I’m sure he will be more than happy to pair you up with somebody because he’s probably broke just like me!

    Zipper queen - November 6th, 2016 at 2:17 am

  339. America is a toxic, hateful, paranoid, and socially disconnected culture. America is so heavily disconnected that even God Himself couldn’t pair a single rider up with someone to go on the Zipper! Did you know that trying to get oneself paired up with another rider is a good way for a male single rider to end up in prison? America is a very intensely man hating culture.

    Zipper King - November 18th, 2016 at 3:37 pm

  340. Well, actually God Himself probably could pair a single rider up, if He sent Jesus and/or one of His angels to the Earth to go on the Zipper with the single rider.

    Zipper King - November 18th, 2016 at 3:51 pm

  341. But in truthfulness, roughly 97 percent of all Zipper riders are teenagers between 11 and 17 years of age. And NO American parents will EVER allow their teenage son or daughter to get paired up with a stranger to go on the Zipper!

    Zipper King - November 18th, 2016 at 3:55 pm

  342. The Zipper is refurbished, replacing the lap bar with the horseshoe braces that go over your shoulders, and STILL no single riders allowed! Everyone really ought to just STAY OFF EVERYTHING that is manufactured by Chance Rides, Inc!

    Zipper King - November 19th, 2016 at 6:39 am

  343. American culture itself is heavily built around pure, total hatred! America herself has no heart. Americans live like demons. Americans hate each other, they are totally paranoid of each other, Americans expect everyone to live as hermits, perpetually walled off from each other. Default ice barriers are everywhere in society. There is totally no way a single rider will ever get paired up to go on the Zipper with someone in such a toxic culture like in America!

    Zipper King - November 19th, 2016 at 6:45 am

  344. And that is why single riders need to be allowed to ride the Zipper again.

    Zipper King - November 19th, 2016 at 6:51 am

  345. ZIPPER King, you are a fucking loon!

    zipper queen - November 27th, 2016 at 4:33 am

  346. The ZIPPER will remain to be the ride that all scary rides are measured up to! The most unpredictable ride of all time! You don’t ride the ZIPPER, she gives you a ride, and if she’s in a good mood the ride will be awesome, if she’s in a bitchy mood the ride will suck! You just have to know the trick to get to her G spot and then you will have the ride of your life!

    zipper queen - January 5th, 2017 at 6:36 am

  347. Over 99.8 percent of Zipper enthusiasts are toxic, hateful, and spoiled rotten to the core teenagers that will get a single rider thrown right into the “Shu” at Pelican Bay State Prison and required to register as a sex offender for the rest of (the single rider’s) life before they’ll ever even THINK about inviting the single rider to ride with them.

    Zipper King - January 14th, 2017 at 11:04 am

  348. To make matters worse, from the way Chance Rides Inc has blocked reviewers that demand single riders be either let back on or given a set up waiting area to get paired up, Chance Rides employees would BLAST a single rider full and maximum with M-16s, AK-47s, and RPGs until the single rider’s guts were splattered up to 3 miles away and then order an immediate nationwide military lockdown and Martial law before they’d even think of either letting single riders back on especially the newly remodled Zipper or ordering all carnivals to set up waiting zones, even a clearly marked waiting seat, for single riders to get paired up. They’ll literally turn an entire carnival into an all out war zone before even thinking of offering any kind of help to get a single rider on the Zipper.

    Zipper King - January 14th, 2017 at 11:09 am

  349. My guess is also; every single employee and staff member of Chance Rides, Inc has voted for Donald Trump and will be welcoming a North Korea sockpuppet America with open arms.

    Zipper King - January 14th, 2017 at 11:19 am

  350. I think all you anti Zipper anti chance are crazy! If you had the money one zipper brought you, you would quit your bitching and moaning and realize that the Zipper is the most popular carnival ride of all time.so just give up you won’t win!

    Zipper queen - March 3rd, 2017 at 4:44 pm

  351. That’s one thing I hate, knowing American society is just too wicked and selfish to take a stand against “No Single Riders” and the evil and cruel Chance Rides, Inc and could care less that single riders will continue to be bluntly turned away and even threatened with arrest and imprisonment as if it were a capital felony under Federal law, FBI and Homeland Security enforced, and punishable by even 300 years to life in prison and/or the death penalty, for single persons 18 and older to leave their residence except for school and/or work within the United States of America. Heck, American society could even care less, and would even prefer it, if carnival ride operators shot and killed every single single rider they saw trying to get in line! As in, a single rider tries to get in line, and it’s bang! bang! bang! and the single rider is dead at the scene, and entire cliques at the carnival are; “Hip Hip Horray!” (Repeated several times) “Good riddance to another single sore loser! One less loser wasting our oxygen!”

    Zipper King - April 11th, 2017 at 1:49 pm

  352. If the Zipper is still the most popular ride despite “No Single Riders,” then “Death to single losers!” is the most popular spiritual chant in America!

Chance Rides, Inc is ABSOLUTELY evil and totally cruel and callous! It’s easily one of the Top Ten Most Evil companies in the world! They have already declared WAR on single adults!

    Zipper King - April 11th, 2017 at 2:04 pm

  353. You better think about your buddy Donald Trump. More important issues than riding the Zipper alone. Come on

  355. Hi, Geff here. The zipper sure did a number on me! I sure love the zipper. I was a single rider so I was paired with a nice lady who undid my zipper later if you know what I mean ;^).

    zipper king - May 24th, 2017 at 3:41 pm

  358. WOW jeophree you are one crazy single rider!

    zip dad - May 29th, 2017 at 5:26 am

  359. The worst thing is, in America, going out alone makes you look like a loser to others, and you stay alone.

If you especially are a guy and you are by yourself especially because you have no friends, the people in the cliques are literally; “Ah ha! Rapist! Sex predator! Pedophile! Serial killer! Kidnapper! Child molester! Where there’s smoke, there’s fire!”

    Zipper King - May 29th, 2017 at 3:59 pm

  360. Gephroy.

Over 99.9 percent of Zipper enthusiasts are toxic, hateful, spoiled little 14 year olds who will complain and whose dad will smash your face right in for asking his son or daughter if you can go on the Zipper with them. Or complain to the police and have you staring down a sentence of even 6,000 years to life in Federal prison and a requirement to register as a sex offender for the rest of your life. And again I tell you; in America, God Himself could never pair especially a grown male single rider up with one of those toxic, spoiled teenagers to go on the Zipper.

    Zipper King - May 29th, 2017 at 4:13 pm

  361. Fuck all you crazy bastard’s that continue to bitch about single riders. It’s not even gonna change. FROM DAY ONE ALWAYS NO SINGLE RIDER POLICY PN THE ZIPPER

    Zipper queen - June 22nd, 2017 at 4:36 pm

  362. Hey, how is everyone doing today. It’s a great day to be alive and enjoy the best Carnival ride invented by Man. ZIPPER!!! BEST FUCKING RIDE EVER!

    Zipper queen - July 8th, 2017 at 2:02 am

  363. Zipper Queen, one thing that really irritates me is when you post like “No Single Riders” was FBI enforced from day one, like even in 1970, ride operators who let single riders on were immediately arrested, investigated by the FBI, and faced even 6,000 consecutive life sentences in Federal prison and/or the death penalty! Like you even pipe dream that single riders even in 1970 who tried to get in line were immediately taken out by a missile/RPG attack and immediate Martial law declared!

    Zipper King - July 10th, 2017 at 4:00 pm

  364. Like in other words; From day one, Always No Single Riders, FBI and military enforced! Violators will be charged with a capital felony under Federal law and will face up to 6,000 consecutive life sentences in prison and/or the death penalty. Use of immediate maximum lethal force authorized and recommended. Immediate full nationwide military lockdown and Martial law will occur.

    Virginia Skarada - August 3rd, 2017 at 8:18 am

  368. I’m a complete theme park enthusiast. I’ve been to many of the biggest amusement parks across the US. The Disney parks, Cedar Point, many of Six Flags’ parks, but no ride or coaster has ever topped the Zipper. Randomized Chaos is exactly what the Zipper is.

    Michael Ackman - August 23rd, 2017 at 7:21 am

  369. No zippwer at the cne this yeaR. VERY DISAPPOINTED. WILL NOT BE GOING.

    barb - August 31st, 2017 at 9:59 am

  370. I am a 69 yr old guy and was truly disappointed when I heard the Zipper is discontinued. It is simply the best midway thrill ever invented. Why can it not be re-engineered to make sure no accidents can happen? Surely doable in this modern age of technology we live in. If it does not come back there is no reason to attend a midway anymore for me.

    William Jeffrey - September 24th, 2017 at 7:17 am

  371. William,
The Zipper has not been discontinued, and probably never will be. It’s too classic.

    Terra Verso - October 22nd, 2017 at 6:53 pm

  372. I’m looking for some info. on the Chance Zipper. Does anybody know any of the following: 1. the name of the original boom bull wheel rim drive the early zippers had and the 2 chain/sprocket boom drives on later models (one shaped like a 6 pointed star and the current one with open circles around it). 2. the name of all 3 different center light designs on the zipper. i think they are starburst, diamond, and arrow. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

    Chris - November 4th, 2017 at 3:22 am

  373. The Zipper SHOULD be discontinued; in fact Chance Rides Inc itself needs to be discontinued. Chance employees will do a lot better in the Fast Food industry. We don’t want them spreading their toxic hatred of single persons all over the already toxic country (America), especially where, if a person breaks under the stress of isolation, he is quarantined further, institutionalized, and put on drugs.

Get rid of the Zipper! Replace it with the Rock-O-Plane, which is manufactured by Eyerly Aircraft, Company and does NOT have “No Single Riders” written all over it.

    Unproud American - December 1st, 2017 at 5:13 am

  374. Rants against the “No Single Riders” policy for the Zipper are actually more likely to result in shootings and homicides directed at single persons at American carnivals than anything. And immediately after that will come metal detectors, X-ray machines, and armed military personnell at the entrances to every American carnival and fair, and possibly even a zero tolerance policy towards single persons or even groups of less than 6 people. American culture caters only to cliques and families, and in America, single/lone persons are put essentially in the same class as homeless beggars. In America, like homeless people, single/lone people have no rights and are not even wanted in the community. In America, if you are by yourself, you are labeled a loser who is basically worthy of death. And oftentimes, when an isolated person, especially a guy, commits suicide, Americans clap and applaud as if to a touchdown during the Superbowl. To Americans, suicides are more entertaining than a hundred rides on the Zipper.

And that is why Americans will continue to flock to the Zipper with their noses pointed skyward as they coldly trample the singles population to death, chanting “Singles are losers!” and even “Death to single losers!” as they enjoy their ride.

  379. Im an old school Zipper fan, its nice that you created a web site for the Zipper, it gives Zipper enthusiast’s a way to stay in touch with the carnival ride industry. Thank You Craig W.

    Craig Wheelwright - July 16th, 2018 at 4:25 pm

  380. HAHA what is this
    why are people getting heated
    over a carnival ride..

    angeIa - August 26th, 2018 at 2:52 pm

  381. I personally have ridden as a single rider on the Zipper before and can easily tell everyone from my personal experience that a single rider 60 inches or taller can never turn sideways inside the gondolas and slip out from under the lap bar.

    Zipper King - September 13th, 2018 at 5:41 pm

  382. What if I told you that “No Single Riders” is actually for crowd control? What if I told you that, if they let single riders on, every single Zipper at every county and state fair would have lines stretching up to a quarter mile long, and those lines would block pedestrian traffic trying to go to different areas of the fair, plus the fair would quickly exceed it’s maximum legal safe capacity due to massive, impenetrable crowds that want to go on the Zipper. And they don’t set up single riders waiting areas or secondary lines for single riders for that exact reason. They know that the vast majority of Americans have no friends. And so to cut down the crowds and to prevent overcrowding of carnivals and fairs, they discriminate against single people and only serve families and cliques.

    Morpheus - March 11th, 2019 at 3:29 pm

  383. My best friend David Irwin and I did 36 consecutive flips on the Zipper at the Desert Empire fair in Ridgecrest, CA. back in 1989!!! That car we were in spun from start to finish!! TRY TO TOP THAT!!

    Roger Green - June 7th, 2019 at 6:41 am

  384. Crazy about the whole single riders because I have in fact rode this ride by myself more than once? That’s crazy!

    Braylon - July 16th, 2019 at 1:00 pm

  385. The no single riders policy definitely didn’t make it to Australia because I’ve been able to get onto multiple zippers on my own haha. Don’t think it’s possible I could’ve come loose honestly

    Lewis - August 14th, 2019 at 11:46 pm

  386. In America, going out alone makes you look like a worthless loser basically worthy of immediate death, and you stay alone. And in a rapidly growing number of expanding areas in America, if you are a man, going out alone actually makes you look like a massacre/mass shooting suspect; yes, even a terrorist! And that is why Americans in cliques will call the police on any single male rider that wants to go on the Zipper. There are even rumors circulating of a ride operator at a Greek fest in Fort Myers, Florida that smashed a single rider in the nose, hurling him backwards. Mark my words! Before long, American Zipper operators will come heavily armed with guns and will shoot and kill any male single rider they see in line or any unaccompanied man they see within less than 100 feet of the Zipper, and then use “Stand Your Ground” to defend their actions.

    happierabroad - August 17th, 2019 at 4:05 pm

  387. America herself caters only to families and cliques. She prunes, weeds out, destroys, and discards all single, unaccompanied, and less popular people. In America, it’s survival of the fittest and most popular. If you don’t fit in, America wants you out of sight and out of mind. Snap under the strain, and America institutionalizes you and puts you on drugs. And “No Single Riders” for the Zipper is one of the main ways America makes sure that only popular people that fit in have fun.

    Karl Marx - August 25th, 2019 at 3:04 pm

  388. In 1983 I signed with Bill Dillard operater of the ZIPPER. Best ride second was the supper loop with the top pin

Show must go on - September 27th, 2019 at 1:55 pm

  389. “No Single Riders” IS NOT about safety. It IS NOT about balance. I saw two riders in one gondola of the Zipper at the Fair at Fenway South near Fort Myers, Florida. One gondola with two riders, all 11 others empty. And the ride ran like a champion.

And it was the new Zipper with the horseshoe restraints, owned by Wade Shows, perfectly safe for single riders due to the horseshoe restraints, and yet still with “No Single Riders” written all over it.

“No Single Riders” clearly is to tell people, especially guys, who have no friends; “Go back to your mom’s basement you worthless loser, or we’ll send you straight to Pelican Bay!”

    Saturn - December 4th, 2019 at 3:15 pm

  390. The Zipper was not always “No Single Riders.” Up until maybe 2006 or 2007, the decision to enforce “No Single Riders” was left to individual ride operators. But around 2006 and 2007, the insurance companies began ordering “No Single Riders” enforced like police law nationwide, and no Zipper in the United States of America has allowed single riders on since 2008.

    Zipper King - December 4th, 2019 at 3:32 pm

  391. this argument has been going on for 3 whole years?!

    Emily - May 28th, 2020 at 6:34 am

  392. Woohoo! Number 50! Just Making Notes cause GP2E Just did a video mentioning this forum. This is the point the 3 years of arguing cut off!

    CoasterKey - June 10th, 2020 at 8:58 pm

  393. I believe that without single rides, there can be shorter lines, however in the case of this ride I do not agree with “No Single Riders”. This puts those without a partner to be in shame, as they cannot ride and everybody would laugh as America loves pairs. The zipper ride was made to show how much America hates lonely people.

    Coast-er-adicate - June 12th, 2020 at 2:22 pm

  394. For those of you out there still complaining about No Single Riders rules for the Zipper, the United States of America is about to mandatorily and permanently institutionalize all men high school graduation age and older without a woman in their lives. Soon, there will be no more single adult men in the community anymore; they will all be permanently locked away, out of sight and out of mind, never to be released and set loose in the community.

    Karl Marx - December 16th, 2020 at 5:24 pm

  395. Another cruel twist of fate; no Zipper in the United States ever bothers to set up what are known as single rider lines, as they have at Disney World and actually a few amusement parks.

    Zipper King - March 3rd, 2022 at 10:59 am

  396. It is officially clear now, we can no longer operate the Zipper in the United States of America due to the issues and conflicts it causes and the prison terms it causes in this country due to No Single Riders and the insurance companies. All American carnival midways need to sell their Zippers to foreign country carnival midways. Costa Rica, Mexico, Australia, Europe, Southeast Asia, those areas are much more accomodating than this toxic, soulless, and disconnected country known as the United States.

    happierabroad - June 26th, 2022 at 4:00 pm

  397. There is news going around of Zipper ride operators armed with guns and shooting and killing single riders that they see in line. And Chance Rides, Inc is in fact condoning and cheering on the ride operators for using deadly force on single riders, like SWAT teams taking down a caught cop killer.

    happierabroad - June 26th, 2022 at 4:04 pm

  398. They will never set up separate single rider lines for the Zipper. Four single riders were gunned down at the 2022 DuPage County Fair in Wheaton, Il by the operators of the Zipper ride whom spotted the single riders in line. One of the operators spent about 30 minutes in jail until he bonded out and used Stand Your Ground to defend his actions which were supported by Chance Rides, Inc.

DuPage County Fair - August 13th, 2022 at 3:26 pm

  399. I went to Deerfield fair in NH 2 weeks ago nd was so excited to try the Zipper ride… my mom used to never let me go on fair rides as a young kid knowing they’re ALL usually made In 2 days by workers not professionals.(not saying they aren’t good workers just that they don’t do that as a full time job only for this fair). Anyways my brother, his gf then my cousin nd I went on it together. I was confused bc there’s no seatbelts just locked in a cage w a bar to hold on to that doesn’t adjust to riders it doesn’t move so it was pretty far. When started nd we flipped I smashed my head on the top of cage since nothing was holding me down.this continued I hated it. Getting off many young riders ran off crying one even was bleeding on forehead. I wasn’t sure if it’s like that unsecure everywhere or just this location. Very disappointing.

    Lex Marie - October 26th, 2022 at 6:29 am

  400. The Zipper has like two entrance points per side, both at a 90 degree angle to each other. Ride operators can easily set up what is called a single rider line, like a secondary line in addition to the main line. Single riders would wait in the single rider line to be joined by another single rider, at which point the ride operator lets both in. That would be a whole lot more convenient than making single riders ask around if someone is available to ride with them and risk going to jail.

    Observer - December 23rd, 2022 at 4:51 pm

  401. I agree with observer. Separate single rider lines for the Zipper would be far better than just watching especially male single riders going to jail for asking if someone is available to ride with them. All due to feminism and the default hatred of strangers.

    Robo Manus - December 23rd, 2022 at 5:07 pm

  402. People that end up as single riders are all lunatics that have no right to be on our streets and all belong in psychiatric institutions. We are never allowing our ride operators to create single rider lines for the Zipper so that lunatics can have fun. Every single mass shooting and terrorist attack in the world is perpetrated by the kinds of people that end up as single riders. You’re not part of a clique, you belong in the gas vans.

Chance Rides Inc - March 2nd, 2023 at 2:24 pm

  403. While shopping for a birthday gift for mr adult son, I just now discovered your website. He has been enthralled by amusement park rides since his most earliest recollections of gazing at them for many hours just trying to understand how the “nuts and bolts and gears” function. Now as an adult (and working as an air traffic controller in Dallas), he will drive hours to locate an operating amusement venue to still marvel at their movements. I WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE A BIRTHDAY GIFT FOR HIM OF A VINTAGE AMUSEMENT PARK GENRE, i.e. ZIPPER Ride Patent schematic. Do you sell such items?

    Steve Morgheim - July 18th, 2023 at 12:11 am

  404. I have never been in this ride and heard about all the accidents, if i see one i’ll just admire the ride whitout riding the zipper. I also noticed something going on in these comments, a whole drama going on due to single riders and i don’t understand on why killing them because they are single riders, it’s like when you see a short person and you wanted to kill them because they were short for a ride? The hell? I won’t be using ANY weapons on that person because they were short? Wow is this how you zipper clique do it? And even the man in a wheelchair?? PoS too much? Get some help man like you are sounding like a psycho and a serial killer, i won’t be killing any riders that are short or single because that is unethical and very wrong. If i work at a carnival and when the person who is single, i’ll tell them to find their partner, or if a person was short, i have to apologise to them as there was a height restrictions on them. Geez this thread is something else isn’t it? (Not talking about the experience of people’s ride or anything)

    Kamikaze Girl (L.U.G) - January 20th, 2024 at 12:59 am

  405. Also the fact that FBI warning’s comments just cracked me up a little like what does it have to do whit the ages? Like you have said that the person who is 18 yrs old should not ride the ride due to them being 18 and only 17 yrs old can ride the zipper. Lol and the fact that you said that they (18 yr olds) will be in prison because they were 18? Man if this is a real law, that would be really stupid that the fact a 18 yr old person wanted to have fun and ride the ride and just because they are 18, dosen’t meant that they will go to prison just because they were 18??

    Kamikaze Girl (L.U.G) - January 20th, 2024 at 1:14 am

  406. “New Federal laws for all carnivals;

Use of Deadly Force Authorized!” Oh really? 135 years to life in federal supermax prison?? WHITOUT PAROLE??? Geez what kind of law enforcment are you? A carnival law enforment?

Only because they are single tho and the fact that they have no partner whit them. What i have said on this post is if i see a single person, i will find the pair for them tho, not godman hard. Oh and that you have said that the deadly forces will be used… THAT’S POLICE BRUTALLITY NOOO ×_×.

    Kamikaze Girl (L.U.G) - January 20th, 2024 at 1:21 am

WHAT THE HELL. Why did you put gas vans in your comment? Why? You can’t do that man

And who give a fuck if im single, i am proud to be single, and i will never change >:) be mad fake Chance Rides inc company! Be maddd! Muahahahah!

(If someone thinks i’m a troll, i am not. I care about the people who don’t have a partner for a ride and short people who can’t go to the ride. I will stop commenting on the thread now, don’t wanna spam it but also wanted to comment the ridicilous things about the “zipper” hardcore people wanting to murder people who are single)
